CBE Burning Smell
Hello,
I am new to Z world, and i like to know if it is normal to have a heavy burning smell after installing a new CBE? I recently install my new Invidia Gemini CBE and after turning off the car coming from test drive on the same day of installing, i notice a strong burning smell and smoke coming off the exhaust tips, its like the smell of a burned matchstick. Sorry in advance if this is a repeat post, but I tried searching and didn't find the answer. Thank you |
Its normal. Its all the dirt and grease inside the pipes and on the outside. Give it some time and it will go away.

:iagree:
I just installed the FI Cat Back and had the same issue. No worries! |

totally normal. the gemini is especially dirty for the couple hours.

Yep, my Gemini smelled like a bakery every time it got hot. Now, not anymore. It also got noticeably quieter after a week, as well.

i love that smell, wish mine didnt go away.

It's also the fiberglass packing material in the mufflers being settled and burned in. The loose fibers closest to the inside of the baffles will eventually melt off and once that's done the smoke/smell will go away.

There are some fibers in the muffler?!@
