The cheapest way to get sound @ minimal cost is a custom non-resonated midpipe. You will hear your car on throttle and turn on will be louder as well. Especially cold starts.

But to get opyimum sound. I would with a full exhaust set up. Intake, headers, exhaust, test pipe. Just like a v8 except you have less room to wwork and lacking some torque. The trade off. More agility, near flawless handling and tons upon tons of feedback.

a nice cat back exhaust will do the trick. depends on how loud u want your car to be. if you just want a nice deep tone but not too loud, just get an exhaust that replaces the y pipe back. high flow cat and headers is really loud and drones in the cockpit, but gives really good power gains. a good cat back system will give you about 15-20 whp and make the car sound sweet. oh and, welcome to the dark side;-)

Fast Intentions LTH + Non-res CBE = really f***ing loud and some drone
stock cats + Fast Intentions Non-res CBE = perfect for just street driving

As we speak Berk is having some problems. There are two people on this forum that has experienced some issues with Berk, so I would stay far away from them.

+1............ A lot of people do go with the F. I. exhaust & you get the most hp from them. If you want a unique & exotic sound then I say go with the Meisterschaft full cat back exhaust system as I did. In the end you will have to wait anywhere from a month & a half to three months for a F. I. or Meisterschaft exhaust, but I cannot speak for the others out there b/c I was never interested in them.

The ART pipes are your only breathing mod? Tell me how they sound over stock cats.

I have the FI HFC's and CBE. They look and sound best of all exhaust systems on the market today.

I say it depends on the budget. If you want the most HP, regardless of the cost, FI all the way.

If you don't mind gaining some HP but you know you're not gaining all the potential HP, but you're also paying about half the price, pick something else like a used exhaust, or topspeed, etc.

Default New Exhaust Suggestions

I was looking into geting a new exhaust system for my nismo, because I want it to sound meaner. I was thinking about getting a Borla cat-back exhaust system. I was wondering if anyone has installed this on their car and what they think? I'm also open to other suggestions other than Borla. I'm trying to stay under $1500 if possible.
