But still the ARK Grip 2 would be a better option than the stillen IMO. |

How does the Shockwave E370 compare sound wise? More on the quiet side until pushed?

while cruising its almost un noticable but stamp on it and its pretty loud!!! Somewhere between the FI non resinated system and the 12inch resinated system. It sounds awesome!!! |
Alright so I currently have G3 intakes and Invidia test pipes and I think my Z sounds pretty much perfect. Love the rasp between 2500 and 3000rpm. I put a full Borla on my old car (Tiburon GT) and it really didn't increase the sound much at all besides the annoying drone at low rpms. Also I just a had a buddy of mine put a full Invidia exhaust on his 2012 STi last week and again..almost no increase in sound at all. My car is still much much louder than his and I'm using my stock exhaust.
Most aftermarket exhaust systems I've seen for the Z are either one of two designs. They have what I like to call the "straight through" design where the two pipes don't intersect at all and the mufflers almost hang to the ground (which I personally hate looks-wise) i.e: GReddy Turbo TI-C, Fast Intentions TDX, HKS Hi Power, or they have the "sinlge/stacked muffler" design where the system pretty much replicates the design of the stock system except for maybe slightly larger piping and the 304 SS construction i.e: Stillen, Nismo, Borla, Invidia Gemini ect. If I had to guess I'd say that the "straight through" systems are louder and add more power being that they have smaller mufflers and have a more true dual design without all those bends in the pipes down by the muffler..but I would never want my mufflers to hang that low. And after watching and re-watching that Stillen video of the stock vs. Stillen..for no more difference in the sound I'd just as soon leave on my stock exhaust and forget about any aftermarket system altogether. My question is: does anyone know if there is any exhaust out there that actually increases sound by a lot that doesn't have its mufflers hanging to the ground and still has a decent hp increase? |
Anyone with opinions regarding MXP duals?

This is my first post so sorry if I did something wrong or if its in the wrong section. Im looking for a mellow exhaust that cost under 1k, I already have berk hfc installed, was leaning towards cnt's catback system but youtube is hard to judge.
Thanks! |

Any scraping issues with the fast intentions since it does sit a little lower, im at stock ride height, ive alse heard good reviews on the cnt system but would like to hear it in person. Cnt is also cheaper which is nice but id pay the extra if its worth the sound and gains.

Tanabe exhaust @ revworks runs $750 for the mid pipe back. Then you can get a Motordyne Y pipe ($350-$550) (HFC / TP / Res), ebay pipe ($100), AAM Y pipe ($340), Tanabe Y pipe ($500) or Litespeed Y pipe that comes with a resonator ($200). Invidia is quiet as well. Top Speed generally gets mixed reviews. Don't know much about CNT
Mine is loud from the headers, the exhaust tames it a lot. I use the Tanabe Y pipe and HFC. Clink the link on my sig for videos. There is rasp in some videos, but it reduced dramatically after break in. |
Ok thanks. How is the fitment on the invidia gemini since the tips are not adjustable i hate the look of the tips when they stick out a lot further then stock tips
|
I believe every invidia exhaust I've seen installed have the tips sticking out.

Also Fast Intentions exhaust doesn't sit lower, but it's lowest point is after the rear axles/ So if you haul as$ over a speed bump and don't let the suspension decompress before driving off again, you could scratch the cans. That generally goes for most exhausts of that design.
