Because of design and for power go motordyne or hks/ark.

I'd say CBE is mainly for sound and look. The actual power gain is minimal. The best way for you to decide on a catback exhaust is go out for car meets and hear/see them in person.
Here are the exhaust systems that I would recommend(order doesn't mean anything): Motordyne e370 Fast Intentions HKS Ark Invidia AAM Short tails

Not necessarily true...I know some guys who have netted anywhere from 14-20hp with FI, Berk and Stillen CBE's. Of course this was with the exception that the CBE was their first bolt on mod. If you're talking about a CBE being a second or third bolt on, then I can see where your HP figures of minimal gain and sound and look theory are coming from.

Custom Made Exhaust/Albuquerque NM Club?
Hello everyone,
I am on the quest for the right exhaust system as it appears that many are in. I talked to a 350Z owner who indicated that he had his exhaust custom made at a local shop and the product he got was just as good or better than the products commercially avialable. He indicated that he bought the resonator online and was very happy with the results for about $400. Has anyone else done this? Recommendations/pitfalls? Also, anyone have any contact info for the Albuquerque NM Z club? Thanks! |

Thought I might add to this thread. Im pretty sure I have my mind set on the Motordyne Shockwave))). I plan to order it this Friday or next. It'll be my first "go-fast" mod but, that not why I'm getting it lol. The stock note on the Z is VERY unimpressive and mechanical sounding.

another exhaust thread...
Hello there everyone! i know that i might get flamed for posting this thread but i had to do it.
i've had the nismo for a few months now and currently running the nismo exhaust with a muffler delete.. although the exhaust sounds great i feel like its just a bit too loud for me and would like to get something different. Its safe to say that i've narrowed my options down to only 4 systems: 1. Fast Intentions (love the sound, look, and quality, but hate the wait.. very impatient person) 2. Motordyne E370 (great exhaust, but i feel like the price is a bit too much) 3. Tanabe Medalion (nice sounding exhaust, but for some reason seems not very common) 4. Ark GRiP (like the look and sound) just wanted to see what you guys think or might have some other recommendations? not sure if any of the above systems will be a downgrade from the oem nismo with a muffler delete.. thanks for looking! any feedback would be much appreciated |

From what I can tell you is that the FI will be the recommended by most of the Z community. Not sure how much louder it will be over the stock Nismo exhaust with muffler delete. I guess it depends on if you go with resonated or non resonated. The Motordyne is probably the second best choice IMO. I like the look and sound of it but the price is just not there for me. I will have to say that it is the same for the Tanabe. It seems to be very pricey for what it gives you (y-pipe and back) compared to FI where you get the full system. I do like the look of the Ark GRiP but I would say that FI is still better.
I don't have any of these exhausts but I know people in the area that do and they sound amazing (FI and Motordyne). |
