that meisterchaft sounds really mean. 3200$ without cats though ouch

Stealthrider2 09-19-2014 11:01 AM

Litespeed Racing exhaust!! Handsdown most aggressive sounding and lightest around. Not to mention I also purchased their titanium intakes, great guys to work with!!

Eclipz 09-22-2014 09:26 PM

Its too bad they dont Litespeed dont make their exhaust for the 370z anymore. Their titanium exhuast my my favorites

Are people fitting 3" sytems too these cars? or just 2.5"?

I mean is their the need for a 3" exhaust on a non turbo'd car?

There is no need for the extra flow on NA cars. I am putting the AAM 3" exhaust on my car (parts go on next weekend), but that is in preparation for turbos. There is only a half inch difference so if you are going to stay NA then a 2.5 should be fine. With the extra flow I could lose some torque from the loss of back pressure but it should be fine. IMHO.

Nuki 10-26-2014 09:51 PM

In before the back pressure debate.:drama: :p

Has anyone used both the Invidia Gemini and the top speed 1 cat black exhaust? I'm looking at getting a cheaper exhaust for my Z and have narrowed it down to one of these 2, any opinions?

Driftomodachi 10-27-2014 01:23 PM

Any exhaust that adds power and doesn't sound like a ******* muffled Subaru I HATE that obnoxious ******* sound!!!

z0219 10-27-2014 07:00 PM

aw, im looking for a very very decent exhaust, im not looking for anything thats loud, looking for something maybe very deep sound, any suggestions? >.<

ANMVQ 10-28-2014 09:00 AM

Exotic Speed R1 :)

oero_ballin16 11-09-2014 04:56 PM

so i have been doing my research for over a year now and i cant seem to find a exhaust thats like hks/ark where it is quiet at low rpms and screams at wot, but at the same doesnt have a hiss and rumbles at low rpms like a g35 but deeper. any ideas? and im not looking to spend more then wat a hks cost.:ugh2:

1Stunna 11-09-2014 05:02 PM

Why not Amuse? That might do the trick

Is it me or is the armytrix hardly mentioned? Why is this?

Price and late to the party. I haven't seen bad reviews for it and people with it like it it's just the others have been out for about 4-5 years now. Plenty of testing, dyno, sound clips, fitment pics etc.

2009_370z 04-15-2015 01:12 AM

Are there any cbe's that are legal in California and have a CARB # with it? I've been trying to do research on it but keep coming up empty handed..

joeski 04-28-2015 01:29 PM

just wanted to throw my 2 cents in for anyone that is thinking about what exhaust to get. i just got the invidia gemini, and for me it is perfect. if you are looking for a deep tone with out being loud its great. my main concern was drone as i drive a highway to work and cruise at 80mph 3000rpm. there is no noticeable drone with this exhaust, the very low rumble is there but when you give it more throttle it comes alive. Everyone will have their own opinion and tastes on exhausts, but if you are looking for an exhaust that is not too loud with zero drone the invidia is great, and it is not a bad price.

z_blk 06-16-2015 02:28 AM

I'm still undecided on which exhaust to get on my Z. My options are as followed not listed in order or preference. I'd like to her your opinions on each to help me decide. My main reason to upgrade the exhaust is because stock is just wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy to quiet. Also don't want to spend over 2k for it...

Tomei single exit muffler
Invidia Gemini
Motordye E370
Ark grip or dt-s

Much appriciated!

Out of the 4 listed I would pick either the Motordyne E370 or the Tomei. Motordyne if you prefer something more tame but loud at WoT. From videos and hearing it in person it sounds amazing. Plus it looks better because both of the cutouts on the rear bumper are used. Now if you want to be loud obnoxious and sound like a loud race car anywhere you go... then I would suggest the Tomei. There are a couple of complaints I have about it though. First, it can be a pro or a con, is that it is loud. If you plan to go anywhere late at night even with the silencer in it could cause issues in a neighborhood. Second, is that it hangs really low. People keep saying that its similar to the V1 FI exhaust in how low it hangs but I find that being lowered and having the Tomei is just too much. I did have a fix for it though so it has made daily driving it much better.. though one pipe is already scraped to crap.

Man your feedback is appreciated! I'm from Australia so shipping Motordyne here would cost around 2.7k....(Would be too expensive for my liking) Whereas the Tomei would be 1.5k. I'm still not sold on the single exit look and you make a good point about noise. I don't think I'd want it race loud since I use my Z as a daily driver. The popular exhaust mod here for the Z is the Invidia Gemini, yet I want to steer from the pack and have something unique...

The first person I'd tell when I choose an exhaust would be you! hahaha (Since you've prob seen a ton of posts by me wanting info on exhausts for the z lol)

Maybe I should just get wheels first since I know what wheels I want :rofl2:

Haha, I think I have a seen a few of your posts. In any case the Ark is not a bad system either. I just don't think it sounds as aggressive compared to to Motordyne. I am not too sure about the difference between the two.

Motordyne sounds like the perfect exhaust but my issue is the cost... 2.7k for a cbe would literally cost me an arm and a leg... And being from Australia our $AU is soo weak compared to the $USD hence why I'm doing a ton of research about what other exhausts are out there

Since you are in AU would it be cheaper to get something straight from Japan since you are closer? Or would the cost be about the same or more? I'm sure there are a few JDM exhausts that would fit your preferences but not sure about the cost of getting it to AU from JP.

Similar cost, depending if you get the muffler or full-cat. I can't really find enough info on other jdm exhausts such as fujutsubo, hks & greddy to make a decision on any of them... (Hardly any videos out either)

Oh and I found out Tomei jp has not relation to Tomei usa. Tomei USA just bought the rights to use the Tomei brand...

Maybe I'll just wait for the AU$ to even out against the USD$?... Really don't know anymore lol

There should be plenty of videos of the HKS exhaust. From what I have heard from people is that it is quiet idle and is only aggressive during WoT. Fujitsubo and Greddy are a bit harder. I know that Greddy, at least on their site, says that 2 of their former exhausts are discontinued. I would say you could find a cheap y-pipe and possibly look into the Apex'i exhaust. I have a video of my former Apex'i. It is a little audible when idling and sounds pretty nice during acceleration. I had to spend around 1750 for the exhaust in the US maybe it will be cheaper from JP?

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the HKS. Do you know much about the Tanabe muffler? Most of the jdm exhausts sell their parts separate. Eg. sell the muffler separate from the mid/ y-pipe. (Very annoying imo)

The most accessible cbe I can get would be the ark dt-s/grip or the invidia gemini. Not many options here down under lol

Or then again there is always the tomei muffler...

Thanks for all your info man I will keep searching lol

I haven't heard many people liking the Tanabe. I don't think it is bad but just not a good of an option as some others out there. Good luck in your search. I've been meaning to put a video of my exhaust but I just haven't had the time yet.

I came across your vid with the Apex'i. Also saw the M7 Japan cbe.. Looks very intriguing it might be the one! Do you know much info on it?

Driftomodachi 06-19-2015 09:10 AM

James Jiang says Motordyne

Which are you looking at? I forgot to mention that my version was the resonated version. You could probably go for something a little louder/raspy if you get the non resonated version of the Apex'i. As for the M7 I'm not too sure on that. I know there are a few people who have it and enjoy it. I know that the look of the M7 will be different because the exhaust tips are not tapered off like the Apex'i. There are a few sound clips on youtube but other than that I can't help you on the M7.

I'll probably choose between M7 Japan or the Fujitsubo. The cheapest option would be to go to an exhaust shop and get one custom made but I'm not entirely sure with the benefits of that besides the price...

I just recently came across this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-o4iJzzzGM

That does sound pretty good... however, I'm not too fond of how those exhaust tips look. Also the benefits of a custom exhaust is well... it can be custom to however you want it. You can add a resonator, make it a quad tip, have it be straight pipe etc. You can make it to your exact specifications. Plus by having a custom exhaust you will have a one of a kind setup that no one else can compare to in sound/look.

To the Invidia Gemini owners: Am considering this exhaust but have a few questions.
1. Is this exhaust a high quality stainless material such as 304?
2. Is the hardware of good quality? Ex. bands vs clamps, stainless vs steel
3. Is it a legit company, lol? Cant find a trustworthy site that has a real address and phone number of where this exhaust system is actually manufactured.
4. How well does it hold up over time? (for those who have had it for a while)

Am not overly concerned about the tips sticking out issue. I think pushing the stainless tips back as far as reasonably achievable looks just fine.

Thanks for the advice. Narrowed down to this or Stillen, but the price of the Gemini is much more appealing to me.:tiphat:

Though I do not own one myself I think I can answer a few of your questions. I know that the exhaust is of decent quality. By no means is it 100% the best but it is good for the price. That goes for the bands and clamps as well. If I am not mistaken I think I have seen that on a Z in my area and from the looks of it, there are no issues. The brand itself is legit, though I am not sure why there would be no website etc.

Going with Stillen CBE and Gen2 intake. Looking forward to trying them out. Considering the crank pulley mod. Looking into the engine bay, I would imagine it is a PITA. Will need to look into whether or not changing that pulley will void the warranty.

You could save a bit of money and just change out filters and do post Maf tubes for the same gains. You might not have to do any cutting that way. Also I had someone do the pulley mod for me and they said it was a pain to get to. Not too hard for them but I can imagine not having the tools and stuff could pose a problem.

I was going to forgo the pulley for now. Was hoping there would be no cutting necessary with the Gen2 intakes from Stillen:ugh2:

Personally I think you're gonna want a more aggressive tone than stillen. I used to have one...literally threw it away.

Wow, wish I could have gotten that from you before it was thrown away.

Magnetic Z 07-04-2015 10:01 AM

Had the Stillen exhaust put on yesterday, then I installed Gen2 Stillen intakes. Those intakes are a tight fit! So far, so good. Sound is deeper with no drone at all, as others have stated. Is only a little louder than stock. My mechanic says it will get louder with time. Does feel more responsive when accelerating. Overall, like it!
