I didn't bother posting this but I had to cut the collar down on one tip so that it could be slid further towards the front. If you have an air rotary tool with a cutting wheel attachment this is pretty easy but it should've been flush from the factory imo. The drivers side tip slid into place easily because theres no bend in the way on that side. I really need to write a review on the Berk installs thread! I get compliments from all types of people on the sound but fitment is still a bit of an issue with these. |

Brandon why did you wait 3 weeks, I ordered mine like 3 weeks ago and it shipped the day I bought it...

The vendor said they were waiting for Berk to ship them. I ordered them 3 weeks ago and got the tracking number Friday, they are not here yet.

Like the old saying goes "Don't try and fix something that ain't broke!":shakes head: I totally agree with Dembflyr...I'm glad I got the original Berk....cuz if I was in the market for an exhaust now, it would be a cold day in hell before I would even consider buying this new version :barf: |
I have the Berk; I installed it in August last year. I had a minor fitment issue in that the right tip was too far in and both tail pipes were slightly misaligned. Berk sent me a spacer to fix the right pipe and I used a 2x4 inserted into each tail pipe to make te final adjustment (up and down/left and right).
I am with Bolio when he says if they had the goofy adjustable tips, I would have not purchased it. I know that they have wrestled sith fitment issues, but this adjustable tip thing seems very jerry-rigged to me. Anyway, mine fits perfectly and this is just my 2 cents worth. Take this post and $2.50 and you can get yourself a coffee at Starbucks. Here's a picture: http://www.the370z.com/members/onzed...r-spacer-1.jpg |
I wonder if t would be possible to order a Berk exhaust with the old tips.

That's too bad, between the quieter exhausts, Invidia, Stillen, and Berk; I was going to go with Berk because it appeared best in length nested under the bumper.
|
gotchu99> so just to confirm you took one inch off the tailpipe and the tip is one finger width from flush with the top of the bumper lip? If you cut the tip collar also as Mandingo did how much do you estimate you can cut off? Enough to be flush?
Really would appreciate the feedback as I just bought this exhaust. I may go with Invidia instead, but those look a finger width or so past flush anyway, so if I can get to there or better I might as well just stay with the Berks. |

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I'll probably just go ahead and install it and trim everything to fit.
|
Well this sucks, I was just about to order this exhaust from a vendor because I liked the stock look of the original...ahhh well!!
|
Looks like I'll be able to sell my older version Berk CBE at a higher price now. :ugh2:

Hey guys,
We did in fact change the exhaust slightly from the original design based on customer feedback but it seems that many of you guys liked the original setup better. The reasons to go with a slip on tip were mainly to allow some adjustability in the tips. The slip fit allows you guys to position the tips precisely to match your bumper cutout and length. Some of you wanted the tips to stick out more to avoid collecting soot on the bumper. The slip fit allows you to pull them out so the tip is past the edge of the bumper and the clamp is small enough that you'll never see it unless you get down on your hands and knees. On top of that more and more Nismo 370Z owners were wanting a different tip design that what we currently offer. The slip on tip allows us to mate virtually any tip to the exhaust and we can make custom tip options for you guy in house. It would be a good idea to take a quick poll and see what you guys really prefer. Are you guys willing to work with us on this to see if we can nail down exactly what the majority want? Cheers guys and thank you for your support! |
