Default Invidia Gemini - Noise on downshifts

So yesterday I made the switch to an Invidia Gemini CBE. If I downshift and don't match the revs exactly (NO SRM), I get a brief but loud sound, could be a rattle but almost sounds like grinding.

If I match the revs, I get nothing and its smooth.

Anybody else have this issue with the Invidia and know whats causing it?

maybe the exhaust is shaking a little as you downshift, thus you are hitting the crossmember as the exhaust vibrates/moves....

just an idea.

I seem to be having the same issue with my Greddy SE exhaust. Your description is spot on to what I am experiencing...a rattle/grind noise that is brief but very noticable on downshifts and low throttle.

I think Econ may be right...makes sense. I just got it installed last Friday so I am hoping that the system just needs some time to settle completely. Just going to continue to monitor over the next couple weeks and see how it goes...

I had a rattling vibrating noise too on downshifts. Took it to amplified and they fixed it. Make sure there is clearance with the pipes.

Econ was right. The clearance was just a little too tight. All fixed now.

Thanks!
