Default Getting the z to sound deeper

Hey guys, I want to make my 370z sound different. The type of sound I'm going for is something similar to a ford gt40 (something very deep, rumble, angry). Also, I don't really mind rasp as long as it's deep and doesn't sound like it's about to break. Smell of fuel is no problem either.

I'm also on a budget so I'm trying to stay away from a full exhaust kit.

After looking at some other threads I'm thinking about getting FI or Top Speed test pipes, possibly some HFCs. What kind of configuration do you guys think would be ideal for a deep angry rumble?

Thank you for your help.

You're dealing with a high-revving V6, so the best bet you've got for a deep sound is the FI cat-back with 18" resonators, stock cats, and either the Stillen G3 or Injen intakes.

HFCs and Test Pipes will only take away from the deep sound that you are after.

To keep the deep tones, Mustang is right. Keep your stock cats.

Just to clarify, are you saying get a resonated FI cat pipe / Mid pipe, or x pipe / y pipe? The more resonated the better?

@Gunzero, 1500+ for just a muffler section? I do love that sound tho.

Would mufflers be the way to go to get my desired sound?
