Default Stillen or F.I exhaust?

Hey guys,

I have my hands up in the air. I cannot decide if I want to go with Stillen or F.I for exhaust. I like F.I for the fact I have multiple options for exhaust and I love the sound of the Stillen set up. Other then sound is there a benefit over either of these?

Also I was looking at the carbon fiber mufflers from F.I . 2 questions A) can these be seen from the back of the car and 2 other then sound is there any reason to go with carbon fiber mufflers?

Thanks guys
Keith

I would get F.I. over stillen. Better sound, better options and sounds better. stillen has a more stock look and to me the tips stick out farther then bumper. The cf is also lighter then the stainless steel and sounds deeper. The cf is noticeable somewhat. I loved my cf mufflers sounds good and looks goods

How much weight savings does the CF give you over the SS when you go with FI?

Im a Stillen man myself. F.I. seems pretty good though & much louder. Gains are about the same I believe. I feel that the Stillen has a cleaner look to it. It has a very nice sound without attracting too much unwanted attention also.

You are guaranteed to love either setup. I would decide how loud you want it to be and go from there. The Stillen is quieter than I thought it would be so if your looking for loud def go F.I.

One more thing to consider, the F.I. cans sit very low so they scrape easier. Something to think about, not sure how rough the roads are around you. I hear if the car gets dropped more than an inch it can become quite a prob.

The FI is a much better put togther system. FI uses flanges with nuts and bolts to keep the seperate sections together where Stillen uses slip joints and U Bolts. I had a Stillen CBE on my 08 Altima, it was a great system but the slip joints kept coming lose, I was going to have to get the system welded. Also if you search around you can find many complaints from people about the Stillen system being uneven and sticking to far out past the bumper, I have only heard one complaint about FI.

Yeah flanges would be nice. My Stillen tips line up fine & they stick out the slightest bit further than stock, which I like. I do believe I have heard if you get it all lined up before tightening everything fully you can get the tips in closer.

Are you really going to compare F.I. to Stillen

F.I. sounds, looks, more options,Tony is great to deal with, and they give you the most power out of anybody else's.

I should know I have F.I. 18in res.polished mufflers.
and yes is does hang low but if you drive like a manic you will scrape.

I would like it to be louder then it is now. I come from a V8 back ground so I am getting used to the V6. Does any one have a non resonated Tdx with cf mufflers?

I have heard both systems. The Stillen has a great sound, and is only slightly louder than stock and adds weight to the car. But it has the stock look, if you like that.

I have the FI 12" resonators. It is LOUD in a good way. HP gains are proven, and I often turn off the iPod just to listen to the sound. Personally, I wanted the aftermarket look and a sound that turns heads. Which it does, especially when you get on it. An exotic scream is the best way to describe it. The fit is perfect, and the construction is really impressive. Get the 18" resonators if you want to tone it down some.

Realiy though, you can't go wrong with either system. The sound, stock vs. aftermarket look, and weight gain or loss are the factors you need to consider.

I should add that I've heard clips of other systems at lower cost that sound really good. It is such a subjective decision.

If you're on the fence, I would go FI due to their excellent customer service. Tony is great!
