HFC, Y-Pipe and HPS Tubes installed..

Hey guys, got up early on Saturday to install my HPS intake tubes, CNT racing HFC and ebay Y-Pipe.. First of all I have to say is the ebay Y-pipe is good quality for what you pay for it. I mean the welds were really nice and the fitment was spot on, no issues with it at all. Even the hardware that comes with it is pretty nice.

The stock Y-pipe is absolutely terrible, just comparing the two was night and day !!! I bet just replacing that will net some good gains.

HFC install went ok, the passenger side demon bolt gave a little fight but fully was removed. The driver side was a different story, it turned about a turn and a half then just locked up, needless to say I broke the head off the bolt.. Some of those bolts are pretty hard to get too, but with time and patience they all came out.

The CNT/ERZ High Flow Cats looked great, the only issue I had with them was the provided hardware was super cheap and 4 of the provided nuts didn't even thread onto any of the bolts, they were either too big or two small, just the wrong sizes.. Hmm..

HPS tubes, were just plain easy...

Overall the sound was a hell of a lot louder, a little raspy, but a lot deeper. You now know when you are on the throttle. The car felt a bit quicker, I didn't drive it a whole bunch. I did an ECU reset hoping it would re-learn with the new equipment.

K&N drop ins, HPS tubes, HFC, Y-pipe, do I need a tune ? Can somebody
chime in on this ?

A few pics..
New stuff....

That is one mean lookin extension! I just installed HFCs and dang, I shoulda just asked to borrow yours since you're in Houston... I hope the y-pipe is decent since I just ordered one as well.
Can't help you on the tune part but now would seem to be the logical time since you just changed out most of the airflow system.

High flow cats and a decent Y pipe make a huge difference, especially for a first mod. You should pick up around 20rwhp give or take, next step is a cat-back... You will never be satisfied after a while. :)

Yeah, that is a bad *** extension.. I highly recommend the y-pipe, you will not be disappointed.. I'm holding off on the tune until I do a full cat back at least..
