Got 'er done! Motordyne M370 installed

So last month I bought the Motordyne M 370 intake manifold and just this weekend I had the time to do it.I had worked on cars since I was a kid , but in '78 when I went to med school, my automobile tinkering came to an abrupt halt.Any work on new cars now has a leaning curve.
Friday nite I get all my tools together, and get to work. I get nearly all the bolts off when I get to the two long bolts at each end of the manifold and I can't find my deep 12mm socket, damn and I wasn't going to damage the nut with an open wrench. So I button everthing up and decide I'll go to Lowes in the morning.(I called it a dry run and felt good that it all went back to normal and the car ran fine).Saturday comes , I get the tool and go back to work.
My wife walks into the garage and asks "what are yoou doing to the car?"
Thinking quickly I answered "I saw some feathers here (which I did only one )
and I want to make sure that there isn't a dead bird in here"( things like intake manifolds fall under "need to know" and she don't need to know)
As Motordyne stated it only took a hour to do, so now everything is done and the moment of truth comes, I push the start button , the engine comes to life, sounds really good and best of all no check engine light. The idle was sorta rough while the ecu adjusted itself to the mod, then purred like a kitten.
I took it out for a short test drive and I felt an instsnt difference, what a kick inthe pants. It feels so good to be turning wrenches again. BTW when I was done the missus asked me if I found any more bird parts in the engine bay.
No just a few feathers.(thats how you stay happily married after 27 years.:bowrofl:

Nice. Seriously thinking about getting this. Any other engine mods you have besides this?

Thanks for the fun post DrEvil, I'm glad to hear the mod made such a difference for you; once you add the tune to the manifold mod, you'll probably be able to squeeze more hp out of it. I enjoyed at the feather story :bowrofl:

Need to know only, she does't need to know. Damn I put a cai and a cat back on her XC70. My grown kids noticed it right away, especialy the beefy exhast tip and the different exhaust note but she don't know.:bowrofl:

LMAO @ mods on the Volvo.

That's awesome.

Positive results with the Motordyne manifold? Possibly a placebo? I hope you actually did get positive results. Many people here haven't seen enough of a performance increase to justify the costs.

I love it that you're happy with the mod, and that the wife is "on a need to know basis". I keep my wife on a need to know basis too, I was able to do HPS tubes + K & N drop in air filters with out her noticing, I know easy. lol, Know i'm hoping she doesn't notice the F.I. res test pipes + CBE come this June!!!
