H-Pipe Replacement on Nismo
Does anybody make a H-pipe replacement for the Nismo Z's? Other than Sunline (there are issues there) and Amuse...anyone know anything or anyone that can make one that will bolt up to the OEM system?
Something like a 2.5" ID all the way through piping. |

When i talked to tony from FI about this, he told me he'd need a nismo physically present at his shop to be able to fab up an X pipe to replace the OEM H pipe. I wound up just ordering the full CBE and LTHs but I'm still wondering why no one really makes something like this for us. |

im making a trip down there soon to have an X-pipe fabbed . however, he said he wasnt really looking to put one into production as it would likely take away sales from their full CBE sales.

Okay...that really bites. Is there anyone else that has good connections to a reputable shop that can produce a few of these?
I figure technically they would just use the OEM pipe as a baseline reference and create a free flowing 2.5 version of it. Chops-If you could...would you mind asking if he would make a limited run for a few of us that is willing to pay for the limited production. Hopefully a small quantity would also help to buffer your cost due to volume. Would love to have one made with resonators.....need to cut the rasp down a bit. Much appreciated. Hopefully he would be willing to do that for us and there will be some people that keep up their interest to make it worth his time.
Would be nice to have a X pipe made and maybe with resonators to help cancel out the exhaust rasp from "open" pipes. |

He should consider how many fewer nismo's there are than base, sports, or touring editions. I dont believe it will make his CBE sales go down. I have his LTH's now and I do not intend on buying his CBE (although it is not a bad product by all means), however I would purchase a nismo X-pipe from him. |

Oh Yea! If anyone wants an X-pipe right now for there nismo or any other z you can get one from Dr. Gas Exhaust. You just have to weld it up. It comes across as a cheap product (to some people) but I have used them alot and the quality is good. The X section of there exhaust carries alot of volume (two pipes joined not two pipes into one). OR Tony could make us one from two pieces of tubing that bolts right in???

so basically, other than the H pipe, we have a 2 1/2" exhaust and the cats and the H pipe are the restriction. That said, you'll save some considerable weight too, switching out the oem nismo exhaust for something like the FI cbe. That's what ultimately swayed me into getting the FI CBE vs. having a shop fab up and x pipe for me. I wanted to benefit form the weight savings too. |

Nothing is "wrong" with the FI exhaust per se....I just wanted to use the OEM hangers in the back and I am not a fan of the muffler cans pointing out.
But...the replacement of the mid pipe would be great and still help the exhaust system a bit. |
