F.I. Catback+test pipes..resonated VS non
Hey guys, im looking into the F.I. exhaust setup...on the site, all the descriptions are claiming "no rasp", which is what I have some q's about. We dont have any sort of emissions here in Michigan, with that being said, I am looking at the test pipes/ catback w/o resonaters. On other non turbo vehicles this would usually cause a rasp, so does the 'no rasp" still apply here? Also, how loud would that be? Would it drone? Im not against resonators, but if everything sounds the same, why get them
Thanks |

Drone is subjective! What may drone to one may not drone to the next. Personally i think your car will be a tad bit on the louder side with our resonated test pipes and straight though x in the system. However it will sound great. If you have any further questions or would like to place an order, please do not hesitate to call me directly... Thank you, Tony

Kandy, what most people consider 'drone' is the tone of the exhaust harmonics at around the 2k rpm range. Basically city street cruising speed in higher gears between 35-45mph. If you're doing a lot of city driving, this is where you will most have that 'problem'. I have the F.I. LTH's and CBE and its not so much a drone, but more just the point at where the harmonics cause the most resonance. I just keep it in 5th gear and stay at around 2500 rpms to avoid it lol It's minimal, and honestly some people are just more sensitive to it than others. I love this exhaust and am very happy with it. If you're not worried about emissions, maybe you'd like to look into the LTH's as well.

For me, it was a little more than I had the tools to do, so I took my car to Tony himself and had them do the header and exhaust at the same time. Took just 1 day. He could prolly tell you how it is specifically better than I, but I would say with your background, you could do it roughly in the same timeframe.
