Default side branch inquiry

I would like to install side branch resonators on my F.I. system, but uable to install them at the desired location, between the mufflers and tailpipes(no room). Would it be possible to install them BEFORE the mufflers running outside and parallel to the mufflers? The pipes are to be 2.5 x 29" with an elbow attached to the o.e.m. pipe and capped off at the other end. The drone happens at 2,000. Have an automatic so alot of my driving happens at that 2k to 2.5k. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Don't want to hack up a great system until I'm sure it will work. Be back at noon. Thanks

When I crunched the numbers the measurements of a helmholtz resonator for my last exhaust, it would have to be 29-31" long to cancel drone between 2-2,500rpm. You should be good to go!

Thanks for the input(s). I was a little concerned about the elbows having a negative effect as well, but as long as the total calculated length and diameter are optimal for that rpm range, I should be all set. I have access to 2.5 scrap 316ss and a TIG. Now it's getting the nerve to drill a hole in my new system!

Bends are included with the total length and do not affect the resonator's performance. You can literally have as many bends as you want as long as they are smooth and not affect how well the branch will cancel the frequencies you are targeting.
