@tbox
It's just part of the game. I just got back from the dealer for a valid warranty repair. My radio was malfunctioning. The tech came back and said they wouldn't replace the radio because the problem was intermittent and wasn't malfunctioning at the time. In other words, they didn't believe me. You should have seen their faces when I pulled up the video showing the malfunction. Priceless. Long story short, my new deck comes next week. Dealers want to make money like you not wanting to spend money.

At the same time a elderly lady next to me was getting service done. She said her 2009 Altima was getting poor gas milage. I thnk she said she had about 15k miles on the odo. The service tech said she needed an air filter change, throttle body cleaning and injector cleaning for a discounted price of $300 plus tax. It might not be "stealing" but I'd be pissed if someone tried to pull that crap with me.

The injen intakes put them down low in the bumper under the head light area.

If you decide to mod your car (which I'm all for), you should take responsibly for the fact that repairs are inevitable. I've been in this game long enough to see hundreds of jackasses rip companies off making them warranty repair blown motors because they cranked boost, or some crap like that. Stealing is stealing, it doesn't make it right because it's from a big business.

And not that I have to justify myself, but I'm 31 years old and haven't had a speeding ticket or accident in 10 years smart ***.

There is a site for people like you, it's called my350z.com

My 1st Nismo died because of this same reason.. only I didn't have an intake other then what it came with from the factory. North Dakota has as part of their insurance coverage, a clause that covers this BECAUSE the weather here sucks so bad..

go luck man!

Man, that is low.

Looks like two street sweepers ready to suck. For the OP being you live in FL, it's your best bet to get a Stillen G3 intake.

GNEU 04-02-2011 01:28 PM

Thanks for the advice everyone! But i think my car is going to be okay. everything seems normal and no lights are on. Ill still take it in to the dealer for a check up :)

One lesson I learn from this is to leave my car at home when there is a storm outside...or get he Stillen G3 lol...Anyone want to buy a Injen CAI?

That's why i went with the gen 3's, they are much higher up. Unfortunately if someone going FI..TT or SC the air intakes are very low.:shakes head:......But i wont FI in one form or the other.

Good thing I never drive in the rain. I'm shooting for FI the middle of next year. I'm also thinking of moving to a straight NA track car also. Decisions, decisions.

I don't drive mine in bad weather either, it's not a DD but you can never tell down here. A strom will just pop up during the summer from all the heat.

yeah it's not valve you could have bent the rods, damaged the head gasket broken any number of fasteners, can't remember where but there was site with a good section on hydrolocked engines one had streched the head studs lift the cylinder an 1/8th inch and sprayed a fine line of oil like a laser all around a dyno test cell, be really really happy if ****'s not broke.

Good point on the rods -- I just figured if a rod was spun, he'd hear "tok tok tok" at idle as a dead give away. If head gasket blow it'll probably start overheating -- are you saying it shouldn't bend a valve?
