Slight problem after installing G3 intake!
Hey all, I just finished up installing my new G3 intake tonight and afterwards as I was driving home I realized that my auto windows weren't working properly! I can hit them buttom for them to roll down just fine but when I click to roll them up it won't do it. One of my buddies said it was possible that it didnt have enough time to reset after we unplugged the battery, but Im still worried something could be wrong. Is he right and if so what do I need to go do? Just reset again and let it idle longer? If so how long as well please! Anyways hope for some help with this problem soon. Other than that everything is going great with the intake! Sounds awesome and feels a bit stronger already. Can't wait to see what I can do at the track this weekend.

What happens when it rains? Seems to be in a spot that will cause problems

Nope! From everything I've read it's in a spot that won't have any problems when it rains. I know a lot of people were worried about it, but those that have installed it already have said they didnt see any problems so far. Back to my question at hand tho! How do I get my darn window back to working as normal, because right now it's sitting cracked open because when I open my door to get out, since the auto up is not working, it won't go back up when I shut the door. Anyone know what I need to do? Im thinking of trying to disconnect the battery again and then letting it idle longer this time!

Turn the car on sitting inside. Hold down the window-down button until the window opens completely. Then hold down the window-up button until it reaches the top, and keep holding the button for 5 seconds or so afterwards. This allows the unit to readjust itself, you're done. Repeat for other window. (Edit: I should mention this is with the doors closed, in case that wasn't obvious) Last edited by wstar; 04-10-2009 at 09:21 AM. |

And yes, I was a little worried about water issues too looking at the photos of the system, but you really don't understand it until you see the installation with your own eyes with the bumper off. There's no reason to worry at all.

Funny, I had the same issue with my windows after my install and called the dealership about it. The bastard actually had me come in and reset them himself in like 30 seconds instead of telling me how to do it. He refused to tell me how he did it too.

One of the things that gets reset is the "memory" in the window controllers that lets it know exactly where the top of the door edge is. So every time you disconnect the battery cable, you're going to have to reset the window travel. It takes like 30 seconds, it's easy once you know what to do. |

Well, it's a lot easier to get a lot more horsepower out of an LSx-based car than a 370, but the 370 is built better, it's lighter, it corners better, it feels better. It's a much better driving machine. But given the same $$ input, the Trans Am will take the 370 in acceleration any day.
