Westpak, How was fitment of the complete exhaust system? Did you have to force anything into place?

Westpak,

How was fitment of the complete exhaust system? Did you have to force anything into place?

Yeah, I'll need more power soon enough. No turbo though.

well with the pulley and a tune. theres not tooooooo much you can do. lightweight flywheel will be a nice mod. the short throw. gears. then u pretty much run out of stuff. unless u want supercharger/turbo. or NAWSSSSSSSS

Agreed, I doubt the pulley will do much if anything, main thing left is a tune as it was pretty rich so there is room. The lightweight flywheel, although wont add power, will move up the power band sooner and is a great addition, engine revs so much easier.

I figured you might have the itch after the other night

But as you track the car like you do I would probably stay away from forced induction.

You don't think it would stay reliable with a supercharger...make 4-450ish?

If its reliable enough to run it at 8000rpm and full boost for full trackdays, then sure.

Well any kind of FI introduces its issues, specially for a track car. For a street car no issues really with any FI choice.

Superchargers are probably the least impacting one, adding mainly just maintenance issues with belts, but as long as you carry spare belts with you it would be fine otherwise it should be a reliable option for the track.

Also I think once we get Uprev to gets us the 370Z maps we will pick up some nice gains from tuning it, the car is running rather rich around 12.5 plus we can add some timing
This is exactly what I'm banking on (hoping for) as well. My hypothesis is that without a tune, the headers are a complete waste of money. But once a tune enters into the equation, you'll gain more from a tune with upgraded headers than you would otherwise gain without them (i.e., stock headers).

The thing is, I'm getting more from my Dyno Dynamics numbers than RCZ is from his Mustang numbers, and DD reads lower than Mustangs. I think this is why RCZ is focusing on the Stillen HFCs, as that's the only difference between my setup and his at this moment in time (I have the Berks). The only other difference is that he has the oil cooler installed and I don't have mine on yet, but I doubt that's making any impact on HP numbers.

Leaning the engine out with a tune may have a downside. It is possible that as you lean the A/F ratio the engine will produce more heat.

Meh I don't think it will affect the engine temp.

The dd usually reads a little lower, but if I remember correctly, the difference is minimal. Didn't another 370z dyno that day stock and made like one less than I did. The real reason I'm so concerned over my numbers is because I had a suspiscion that the stillen hfc's were going to make less power. This is kinda confirming my fears. The thing that is really bothering me the most is how little tq I'm making compared to you.

Yeah it was bullitt5897 who dyno'd his stock Z right before me, and he made 256whp. That's exactly what your baseline was as well, right? I'm not sure what's going on with the torque on your car. I think you need to drive it around for a few days and then re-dyno it before you stress too much over it tho.

Edit: Correction -- bullitt5897 made 254.2 on DD. So about 2hp lower than what you made on a Mustang. A small enough difference that it could be chalked up to ambient temp or whatever though.

Because HP and torque are directly linked mathematically, if you are down on peak torque then you are also down on power in the middle of the chart. You could take each of your DynoJet run files and overlay them to see where the difference is. Err..nevermind RCZ has only the Mustang results right?
