EDIT: Here's a photo of a similar 'gasket'
Yeah that looks like what I remember too, beats me what the metal is

I hope they figured it out and put the ring on during the install. Otherwise this whole confusion is going to mean more $ in labor for me.

Wow very nice wrap job, I guess I should have clarified that it is not the kind of job possible for a decent amount of money, between the heat wrap and the time we would have to charge about 300 bucks, probably not worth it to many so I didn't try to sell the job specially since it was coated already.

I used the ones from Berk in my install. There's no way that interface is supposed to be gasket-less. It's two pipes mating at a flat junction with 3-bolt flanges, there's no overlap or slipfit involved.
There is a protrution of the cats into the headers. I specifically asked Stillen if there were any gaskets that should have come with either the headers or cats and he said that they just bolt up without one, so we moved on.

No sweat we will figure it out, lesson learned is to double check even if the manufacturer of the product tells you it is ok, I should have gone with my gut feeling and not settled for explanation.

I apologized via email to RCZ, and now to you, I was unclear in my explanation after the question on the headers and the hardware that you discovered in the box. I should have been more clear, other than the fact that gaskets were not included. I'm sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, I think I'm good considering where I live.

well sure enough there is a small ring on the end of the cat, it looked like part of the cat flange in shape and color and didn't just slide off easily so we didn't think anything of it and that is why I called Stillen to question about no gaskets. This morning I yelled it across the shop at the tech to stay out of arms reach to be safe when I told him he had to take the cats back out

We were looking for the typical 3 bolt hole gasket used in the 2003 350Z style setup

Glad you found it. I wouldn't want to be in arms reach of anyone who just found out they've gotta pull that exhaust apart again either

You guys had me in a small panic! I went and looked at my stock cats laying in the garage and sure enough, the o-ring gaskets are still attached to them. So I was thinking 'oh great, I'm missing gaskets between my HFCs and cat-back'. But then I called my mechanic and he reminded me that with the Berks, the pipe is flush with the flange; it doesn't protrude out past the flange like it does on the stock cats. Hence there's nowhere to even mount o-rings, as they slide over the small bit of pipe that protrudes out past the flange on the stock cats. Phew!

I got my results and its about the same as everyone else.

310WHP 228WHP

I am seeing if they have any pictures of the whole graph.

I am a little worried about the torque number, but one thing that should be taken into account is that the car didn't have ANY time to adjust to the new mods. That dyno pull was done immediately after install. I have a feeling I will pick up at least 5whp after it gets used to the new mods. Then another 10-15whp with a tune. My Goal was 330whp. It is going to be damn close.

Weather correction I think?

I'm kinda curious to see what it will pull on a dynojet.

RCZ, I just dug through your journal to get an idea of what you gained since your last dyno. I need a small favor though...

What were your numbers after installing the Stillen CBE? The only actual numbers I can find was 275 hp with just the Gen 3's. What did you gain from the CBE?

I'm asking because I was just trying to get a rough estimate to the approximate gains.

After the CBE, I made 295whp. So if you are trying to do some math, the hfc's and headers got me 15whp. Hardly astonishing.

So...

Stock: 256whp

Gen 3 Intakes: 275whp

Gen 3 Intakes + CBE = 295whp

Gen 3 Intakes + CBE + Headers + HFC's = 310whp

I leave it up to you to make up your mind on the benefits of getting headers. I personally think they will be helpful once we get into dyno tuning.
