If its not shattering ear drums its not loud enough. I personally love it, I'd have it no other way. However, you are right on the fact that TP's plus cheap y pipes are very raspy. Moreover, without having parts that 'flex' on the exhaust parts you'll get horrible rattling. I had major rattles and rasp when I ran long tube headers with 2.5" tubing to the stock muffler, it was loud as hell but it sounded pretty bad now that I think about it. However, with my new catback the sound is clean, bearable at low revs and an absolute BOMB at full throttle.

TP's alone sounded like raspy garbage. Test pipes with invidia gemini catback sounds like sex.

I believe that non-resonated TPs are a source of rasp on most sytems after reading all the replies on this forum. I have a cheap Y pipe and a CBE with no rasp at all.

The cheapest solution is a few washers from your hardware store.

Tried that. Did not care for it. I am thinking about removing the TP's and ordering a full exhaust. Just thought I would play around and be cheap first.
