CBE Replacement Summary
Hey Everyone,
I, like many of you out there feel that the 370z Stock Exhaust is too plain. So I began the quest to see what CBE replacement exhaust would fit my personal taste. I know there have been many threads started about exhaust replacement, but I wanted to contribute the forum with the research that I found. My criteria: 1. Tasteful Sound ( mildy exotic, not overly loud) 2. Performance 3. Asthetics - I want a nice fit to the rear fascia 4. Price - (I always want good value) I compiled all of my research that met this criteria into a matrix so I could evaluate all of it at the same time. I evaluated (sound / performance / asthetics / PIA factor / cost plus other little details). I have embedded hyperlinks to You-tube videos for various driving sounds of each system. In the end there were 4 systems that I seriously considered. I also want to mention that I am no expert on the matter, all of this information was pulled from various sources. Pricing provided was from Forum sponsored vendors. If you find this information helpful then help a brother out with his rep power. Cheers.

F.I. exhaust seems to meet all your criteria, not sure if you like it Aesthetically. But this forum loves the FI exhaust, so I'm sure that's where all the recommendations will go towards. I personally wanted to go for the Tanabe exhaust+Y-pipe, but not a lot of people went with that exhaust.
On a side note... what do you do for a living (the exhaust matrix makes me wonder lol)? |

Thanks for the feedback.
That is why I thought to helpful to compile everything all in one place.

Nice compliation of relevant info -- but I would consider reporting the gains in terms of % increase from baseline; even on the dynojet, the raw value gains will be misleading, given that they may all have different starting values.
If any data are from another kind of dynamometer, it will be impossible to comare and contrast without considering % gain rather than raw value gain.

That is a good price on the tanabe system. Where you dealing with a forum vendor? I will still probably stick with the overpriced Tanabe Y-Pipe.

I installed the Tanabe and the cheap Y pipe at the same time. Fit was fine. The thing I did not like was outlet of the cheap Y pipe, 3 inch, did not match the 2.75 inch inlet of the Tanabe CBE mid section. The vendor was not a forum vendor. PM me if you need more info.
