Fujimura Auto Rocket Dancer Exhaust??

For me I'm not too concerned about spending money if it's going to give me the right product and isn't more than I need. I think it'll probably be the

For me I'm not too concerned about spending money if it's going to give me the right product and isn't more than I need. I think it'll probably be the Tanabe based really on seeing what it's like inside and out...

Does the Fujimura sound anything like this from in the cabin?

I was just wondering whether the Fujimura will be louder, quieter, raspier, not as deep, droney etc. Has anyone heard both to compare?

Both the Tanabe and the Fujimura - with their 115mm large round non-stickyout tailpipes both look awesome.

Yes. It is two muffled tail pipes. Less than $200 worth of parts sold for over a grand.

Kenchan implied I'm too cheap to own the car, which is what I responded to (my PB&J comment ). My point is, if your gonna spend a thousand bucks, get more than 200 bucks worth of stuff for it.

You will note I have never blasted anyone for selling useless crap like engine covers for hundreds of dollars -- that's artsy-fartsy bling that is pretty much worth whatever someone will pay.

Two fvcking exit pipes are not worth a thousand bucks, even if fvcking Hephaestus forged them in the fires of hell. Gimmie a break.

i'll take a listen at the vid later on when i get home. the closest to the fujimura that i auditioned (via vids. ) was one of the Greddy catbacks...and i've mentioned this already i think. yep the outlets look great.

Thanks Kenchan, appreciated. For me the Fujimura will work out almost half the price than it would to import a catback, unless I go invidia but i've heard that's cheap in the way of quality.
I was lead to believe the majority of any sound comes from the muffler back section anyhow!
Maybe Jordo is correct and i should give him a break - but why would i spend more money on something i don't need if the cheaper one fulfils my criteria just because the more expensive one is better value for money. Exhausts are all depreciating items and your never going to get your money back on items like this come resale time. Its better to lose half the money is it not, as long as your happy?? Glad you like the system!

Did someone say that 97db is twice as loud as 94?

if the 900 can make you happy instead of 1500 or more i guess that's an economical choice. but again, i didnt choose the fujimura because of the price. i chose it for the sound it has. it's a nice piece and i'm happy with it.

yep 3dB is twice the sound pressure level. so a plane landing a mile away is twice louder than the fujimura next to your head.

The biggest overall sound change will come from replacing the cats -- anything non-resonated that replaces the OEM cats will be raspy as hell around 2500 RPM.

Changing the mufler section will affect overall tone and volume, but the change shouldn't be drastic.

As for power, other than the factory cats, the major gains, I believe, are due to swapping out the Y pipe.

Again, buy whatever you want -- I just wanted to give you a heads up that you can track down a rear muffler section that will probably sound exactly the same for a lot less. That said, if you really want the RD mufflers in particualr and have the cash, by all means, go for it.

Great stuff Jordo thanks. I would like deeper tone. is the JDM mystique an axle-back or did i misunderstand you?

I leaning towards the Tanabe but really because it sounds so deep, throaty and 'strange' on vids i've seen. It's a gamble spending money any money on something your not sure of the sound of. i set aside about £900-1000 but thhe less i spend to get a sound i'd like then the better.

Grabbed a pair of studio headphones from my sound room and listened to the vid. Kinda hard to tell...mainly because the vid is using AT. lol but I think the tanabe sounds deeper... The downshift sounded similar but hard to tell because the mic they used on the vid might not be that great, etc.

If you want deep sound get a catback. The reason why I got the rear section was I didn't want the deep sound but a drier clean sound.

Oh, I was just joking -- I mean that anything imported from Japan carries a certain "wow" factor among a certain segment of the population, who are then pleased to pay rather high prices for otherwise inexpensive goods.

I believe in Japan they have a similar fetish for US and Euro parts... grass is always greener elsewhere I suppose

You can definitely find the Tanabe one for less than the RD exhaust, and they are essentially identical (they might even be made by the same manufacturer behind the scenes and just distributed under different brand names...).

Also, you probably could just have a shop weld up what you want by piecing it together -- there's really only a tailpipe, small muffler or resonator, connecting pipe, and a flange -- that's it!
