The rasp from the setup you have may not be that bad. When I say couldn't handle the rasp I mean it was overpowering. Loud! Over the exhaust loud in he car. It started about 3,200 went away for a sec then came back. Under full acceleration it was there the entire time. When it shifted at 7,500 it was there. Cruising it was fine, but anytime I started to accelerate it came back. I could hear it under the floorboard where the pipes are and out the back. Only time I had fumes was like you said, at a stoplight or something. I want to try Berk HFC or Kinetix. Anybody have a suggestion on which of those?

I think thats' due to the extended bung is not long enough.

Even with an extended bung you're likely to get a CEL. Guys are getting them with HFC's so a straight pipe would seemingly be even more likely to throw a code.

Thinks it luck of the draw TBH, I have never had a non stock CAT related CEL and have run many many types

I like how my GTM TP have an extended bung that bends 90 degrees back away from the flow of the exhaust.

This is true.

I had to put O2 sims on my last set of test pipes with the same style O2 bung.

I did those on my 350. Worked great.

Got a set of ERZ cats instead of putting the stockers on. Seems like a good middleground for performance and rasp control.

just an image of the MXP resonated test pipes on my car, the O2 sensors are somewhat extended further i think.

i have a CEL / SES light come on every now and then. but for the majority of the time, it has been off.

not too much talk about MXP in comparison to Berk and the others...

I think your car has the cleanest undercarraige i've ever seen.

Got any soundclips of the double resonated test pipes in cabin and outside? How is it with rasp compared to the plain test pipes.

i can give you a ride some time during a meet in GA... but interior dB isn't bad at all. me and my gf still have conversation with the radio on in the car without yelling. WOT is a different story though. the rasp comes on a little later around 4k, so i can still daily drive without hearing it.

'10Anamoly 03-07-2011 10:16 AM

Hi Jade,

Def raspy but not nearly as tinny or metallic sounding as normal test pipes. Thanks for the vid!

'10Anamoly 03-12-2011 09:15 PM

Switched from non-resonated test pipes to ERZ high flow cats and am 100% happier. 75% ish of the rasp is gone and the exhaust is the perfect tone.
