weldina exhaust?!?
|
Yeah, Nismo/Weldina exhaust with a custom 2-1/2" X-pipe on it.

Yep -- that looks about right.
By any wild chance do you have the drf runfiles? If so would you mind sharing them with me for my dynojet database? :tiphat: If you could, my email is jlitman@mail.usf.edu Thanks!!! |

Raspy from the x-pipe area but will fix that soon. I can get the run files next time I go to Z1, maybe next weekend. Only have the bitmap/jpeg versions at the moment. Sound clips coming soon.

nice gains throughout the powerband

Nice Chris!

The rasp is probably from the TP's if they are unresonated. The X pipe allegedly makes a "whooshing"(?) sound. Oh, just curious, but do you have dynos of bone stock vs +weldina? Your torque curve looks exactly like mine with the weldina (I have it too) + TP's. |
The stock curve was similar but the Weldina gave about 4-6hp and 4-6tq from 3000-4500 and 5000-6500. Peak horsepower was still about 275hp and 230tq. Basically a midrange boost. The problem with the Weldina is that going into the Y-section it necks down to a single 2.5" pipe and then comes back out into two 2" pipes. The exhaust stays at 2" all the way through the resonators and then jumps back up to 2.5" through the rear exits. I used a 304 stainless 2010 Mustang X-pipe and some Vibrant 2-1/2" stainless resonators to make a full 2.5" system with the Weldina muffler in the back. Much smoother after dropping out that midsection and replacing with a proper 2-1/2" full x-pipe.

Pics of set up dude, nice gains.. which test pipes did you run?
|
Do not have any pics yet, but its the Weldina mated to the x-pipe at the link below:
http://www.mrbodykit.com/images/05-PARTS/xfm43.jpg They only sell 409 stainless now (cost savings measure) but I got one of the last 304 stainless versions of it that they had. Mated up pretty closely, just replaced the resonators and got it to weld up to the pipes going to the rear mufflers. All 304 stainless from flange to tip. Test pipes are from Z1 Motorsports. |

Basically I was just wondering if you had a comparison of weldina with Y vs with X to see where it picked up some power from that change alone. |
No dyno from y to x but I can tell you the midrange and near the peak was better.
