ive been reseaching almost all the exhuasts out here when it comes to HP and sounds..also looks...im just looking for some opions on which exhuast people think sound more aggresive and muscle like opposed to a more ricey sound..im looking for a deep sound rather then a g37 sound...any opions are welcome..im completely stock as of right now..

There's a whole thread devoted to your question with audio clips of each one where people have commented.

I settled for the NISMO. They look like howitzers from the back.

The 2.5" AAM exhaust has an awesome sound. Its deep and aggressive sounding. It sounds just like the Stillen exhaust system but its better made with all pure stainless steel. I pre-ordered it from AAM today along with some high flow cats. This is stage 1 upgrade before they install twin turbos.

^ Did I miss something? Is the Stillen exhaust not made of SS? 'Cause I'm pretty sure it is "pure" SS.

I think some people confuse stainless and polished. The whole Stillen exhaust is stainless, but not all of it is polished.

Yo its better made yo. Please state how the AAM exhaust is better made if you are going to make claims. Otherwise :gtfo2:

Uggggg, Stage...whoever decided to relate those to car mods should be shot :-/

No problem. The Stillen kit the piping and silencers are stainless however thier flanges are not. I am told this is very common with cat-back kits. The AAM kit is 100% T-304 Stainless, even the mounting hangers are stainless. AAM does not cut corners on any of thier products. Add to the fact that the AAM kit is a couple of hundred dollars cheaper.

Got dyno numbers? Baseline vs w/ catback?

Aggressive, sure.

Muscle, you're missing a couple cylinders. I have NEVER heard anything less than an 8-cylinder that sounded "muscle".

JoeyD 04-08-2009 11:52 AM

^ I don't know about that. Because, of the longer rods in the VHR it sounds alot like a big V8. With the right exhaust tunning we could get a corvette-ish sound (minus the extra 2 pops). That being said, it's not so much the number of cylinders that give a car a "muscle" sound it's the cam. Big Cam=Big Lope. Lope is muscle.

You will just have to visit thier website. They sell both the Stillen, HKS, as well as thier own. Thier AAM 2.5" exhaust is very similar in design to the Stillen kit. They post a 12-16 rwh gain and then another 8 if you use the hi-flow cats.
