Getting Tanabe cat back tomorrow
With the snows melted and mostly gone here in central Jersey, I'm finally able to get my Z to my tuner shop for the Tanabe cbe. I've aching to to this for months now but the nasty winter here put a damper on that.
Anyone out there have this setup. I looked and listened for awhile try to find the best system in terms of cost and sound.I don't want to sound like a kid with a fart can duct taped to my exhaust pipe, nor do I want to sound like I'm auditioning for "The Fast and the Furious 15" I had a MagnaFlow on my "03 Accord that at 2000 to 2500 rpm had annoying drone, I was told the Tanabe was more mellow. Oops, i did it again- another mod.( I did it for the improved mpg) |

I have the Tanabe CBE with a M2Performance Y pipe, see the cheap Y pipe thread. I think you will be completly satisfied sound wise and quality wise. I love mine.

I just picked her up form the shop and she sounds great.Drove homedown the Jersey turnpike at 70-80 mph and no annoying drone. There is a palpable kick in the pants.
I also asked the guys to install my Stillen splitter while it was up on the rack and that came out super as well. Still haven't learned how to insert pics in my posts but I will upload them into my album. Love those fangs! |

I have the Tanabe exhaust and the Tanabe ypipe with Fast Intentions HFC's. I used to have Fast Intentions with 18'' resonators, CF mufflers and the drone in that was loud. Nothing like that at all with Tanabe.
