What one did you install? If the pipe diameter around the MAF was changed then it could have leaned the car out and reduced power.

I think if you're running rich (which seems to be the case for stock setup), leaning out gives more power (up to point of detontation).

Btw, OP mentioned changing air filters to CAI. Was it only a filter change (e.g. to K&N) or the whole OEM intake to an aftermarket intake?

When I installed my Stillen G3 intake, I noticed more power everywhere and especially in the higher revs.

When you go CAI, you will gain it across the power band, but mostly in the higher RPMs, so you will feel like you lost low end torque.

Agreed, better at high Rpm,not so good at city driving.

Yes..i've noticed that too..

It seems it reduced the low end torque...

It makes the car less aggressive during over-take of the other car after installing the g3 which i prefer like that...

After 4k, the power are more noticeable after the g3 which is more useful during driving on the highway road...

optimal flow will vary according to effective VE of motor at different RPM's.

Better flowing exhaust will often help you higher in the rev range because better effective VE to take advantage of it, but at lower RPM, the greater available air mass actually slows flow, so you lose some low speed torque.

Be nice if VVEL could be tuned to work around that...

This is why everyone shoots for max power results on the dyno. On the street dyno results dont do sh#%t. You have an engine just like everyone else here does, I would look for average horsepower gain rather than peak gains. Yes you probably did loose some low end but got some on the top end. How often are you just on the top end when your racing someone? Not all the time. Build your car where it runs good from 45 to 75 rpms. Average HP's always do it better. Even on the road courses!!

i think the poor low end torque, also partial blame on the warm weather here....engines don't like warm air...
