Is it possible that rtp might cause the vibration at exactly 2k rpm?

try taking off your shifter cover and pulling up on the rubber boot underneath. ive found that the rubber boot sags down, makes contact with the reverse spring mechanism and makes the hit the shifter housing, causing the rattle. i fixed mine by zip tying the boot up as high as i could get it.

no, you'll just have an annoying rattle. but seriously, the fix is very very easy, take all but 2 minutes. hopefully itll work for you too.

First and foremost I am pleased to hear that the RTP's made it to you safely!

You are naturally going to get more drivetrain vibration when installing aftermarket exhaust components. Now we have never incorporated a bracket to the transmission and rarely have an issue. Make sure that no part of any of the exhaust system is touching any heat shields under the car. This could be the culprit.

Let me know what you come up with...

Thank you, Tony

Something else that might be helpful if this is an issue of the exhaust hitting metal (heat shield) and you can't get it adjusted right. You could always use heat wrap to cushion it.

Tony,
I'll try to check the undercarriage again...
I've just noticed that the oem cat have stabilizer on it..
I'm not getting any metal sound except a slightly transmission vibration only during 2k rpm exactly..
Just to be cautious, not to damage my z for long term use...
