Oxygen Sensor ?'s
I am in the process of installing a set of F.I. longtube headers. After removing the factory manifolds I discovered that both oxygen sensors (located in the manifolds, not after cats) were cross threaded into the manifolds. The cheapest price I have found is $318.00 per sensor from Fontana Nissan. Does anyone know where I may be able to pick up a set for a little bit cheaper. Man Nissan is really proud of these things. Oxygen sensors are half as much as the d*%n headers. :shakes head:

Did you manage to get them out? I know that people who had similar issues on other cars where sometimes able to salvage the o2 sensors by reforming the threads with a tap. It might be worth considering if they really cost that much.

they are the same sensors used in the GTR, I had the same issue not a cheap fix, good luck.

Yea I managed to get them out and the threads were shot. No salvaging them at all. One might work but I dont want to chance it. Yea there way over priced. |
Damn that sux. My guy at Nissan no longer works there so no helpfrom here. Sorry about not answering my phone I don't get I a signal at work. It is a pain. I will be in Greenville Saturday I'll call to pick up the the cats. If thats cool with ya.

I wonder if a shop might have laying around they could let go cheap. Call around. I also wonder if some used ones off a 350 would work.

That is not the correct sensor, thats a rear sensor. |
I guess that's about the best deal you'll find.

Thanks fellows for all the input. I ended up getting them from Daniel at Z1 Motorsports. Those guys always have the best pricing and customer service. According to them this is a very familiar problem. I should have the Z back on the road no later than Monday evening!! :happydance: As far as Nissan and there high dollar O2 sensors they can go f*#k them selves. Oh well we live and learn. Hope this thread helps others from making the same mistake in their future build ups.

I had the same problem but with the one in the cat (technically post cat but in the cat assembly). I replaced it with an NTK for $92 from RockAuto.com, unfortunately though the pre-cat sensor is $167 from them. Looks like Daishi has the best deal on that one. You could always go with a generic one for $30 and change the wires over but I wouldn't trust it, maybe for a post cat sensor it would be ok as it doesn't do much.

you might get lucky with a salvage yard.
hint: G37 uses the same manifolds & O2 sensors. |
