He wrote back and said that they are working on it but not to expect it to be in production until the summer. For those of you who don't mind waiting and want to save several hundred dollars or more (the 350 sets were under $750 and looked to be true dual exhausts from the pics) this might be an option. I think it is what I will do unless I go local/custom (I just think $1500 for an exhaust is such a rip off...we are talking a little bit of metal here folks...not gold bullion).

As long as it matches the quality of the y-pipe and doesn't have split mufflers....I might be down with that....oh and some gains on a dyno would be good. I was tempted by the test pipes but I don't want a fart car or rasp.

Must people tackle the Y pipe on their own. Bolt off, bolt on. The biggest challenge is getting under the Z. Test pipes can be a different animal due to bolt locations and being difficult to break lose.

younter 02-18-2011 09:58 AM

Are they all from the brand TS?

370zjames 02-18-2011 10:18 AM

I got the surewin Y-pipe and TS's TP!!

vo370z 02-18-2011 10:03 PM

The same Y pipe on Ebay just went up $20 so with shipping it is now $100 - same vendor.

Svre46 02-18-2011 10:44 PM

Installed it today with the TopSpeed Pro1 CBE....sounds amazing.

370zjames 02-19-2011 04:43 AM

I saw this exhaust posted on another site for $180...can't remember if that included shipping. I took plenty of pictures....might post some.

10/4 on the nuts. I had to make a trip to the hardware store also. For $80 I can't complain. The only thing I did not like was the 3 inch outlet. It does not match up with many CBE systems or the stock pipe.

370zjames 02-21-2011 05:33 AM

I installed mine(Y-pipe, Stll waiting for the Test pipe :( )!! It took me about one hour!! IT fits Very Good !!!!!

Chrono_30 02-21-2011 11:25 AM

No reason I just found a killer deal on the Tanabe Y pipe and decided to upgrade. The Tanabe seems to be more aggressive and free flowing..

Kastley85891 02-21-2011 12:14 PM

Thats cool dude, the Tanabe is a nice piece

Chrono_30 02-21-2011 12:17 PM

Yeah it is, I honestly can only say nice things about the other Y pipe, the fitment is great and the install was quick and easy

Big J 02-21-2011 12:18 PM

Installed it today with the TopSpeed Pro1 CBE!!!! It's bit loud BUt i"m loving it!!!

TypeOne 02-25-2011 11:57 AM

I think I'm going to get the Test pipes soon... I'm really for a little more loud!

Got my muffler deletes and Y pipe on already... :-D

1ceasar180 02-25-2011 12:07 PM

I put on the Y-pipe and test pipes on along with Top Speed yesterday. The rasp is very bad. Under 2k I have some then it goes away until around 5k under heavy acceleration. If you can ignore the rasp and listen to the exhaust note, it sounds awesome. I'll prob go back to the stock CATS. I don't think I can get used to the tin sounding rasp.

HFCs or resonated pipes seem to work out pretty good. I am waiting for more sound clips with HFCs before I go that route.

I wish I would've got the resonated pipes now. Having to put the stock cats back on doesn't thrill me. The test pipes are easy to get on and off but the top bolts on the stock cats are tough. I had to go from the top side with a 3 foot extension to get to one of the bolts. Ya don't know till ya try though.

I bought this Y-pipe and will be installing it soon.............Heres my question coming from the turbocharged world the best exhaust is no exhaust, but because my 370z is n/a will this larger y-pipe cause me to loose low end performance ? I ask this because when I installed a larger exhaust on my last n/a car I lost low end performace while picking up some top end.

AJ PwR 02-26-2011 07:44 PM

Price is good for the Y-pipe. Can't even get pipe and flanges for this price !!!

370zjames 02-26-2011 11:47 PM

I installed the top speed T/P and Cheap Y-pipe!!!! NOw I hear rattling sound at 2k rpm.
Does anyone have same Problem???????

Kastley85891 02-26-2011 11:52 PM

T/P will give you hiss / rasp period dude, unless you go ART pipes.

Check the cross member where the Y pipe connects to the rear section of the exhaust. After my top speed settled I was having a vibration from the exhaust laying on that cross member. I took it to exhaust shop and they bent it down a little bit, and I havn't had it since.

I had a bit of vibration from the TopSpeed midpipe....made my exhaust seem much louder in the car and was annoying. I just made a minor adjustment with the hangers and solved that issue. This happened right after I did the Y with the exhaust. I installed them at the same time so who knows what exactly did it. The one hanger on the midpipe is one thing I thought needed to be tightened up a bit to begin with. I wish winter would be over so I can drive it some more. It is a great sounding combo.

Was wonderin what u guys did with the cel light on these lowcost testpipes. Do u think with this Ypipe my exhaust will get annoyingly louder than it is.
