370Z Z34 G37 VQ37 08 09 10 11 Exhaust Test Pipes Cat DL - eBay (item 330508965108 end time Feb-13-11 18:09:03 PST)

Heres a link to some test pipes the same guys selling...probably similar quality. I'm looking at getting both I'll do a write-up if I do. I live in Austin too, maybe ive run into some of you guys I drive a blue 370z

cotizi 01-24-2011 07:48 PM

hmm cheap test pipes!

Kastley85891 01-24-2011 08:37 PM

lol - Yes I have ran them, and yes they were very good.... another good buy

NISMOFO 01-25-2011 07:40 PM

Looks like I need to order this. I don't normally like cheapo parts but it sounds like I've been paying too much in the past for a branded part. I think my stock y-pipe is cracked.....but not certain.

370Z JT 01-25-2011 09:08 PM

So any dyno numbers yet?

CATCHINZZZS 01-26-2011 09:59 AM

Do you think with these Ypipes and test pipes with the stock exhaust will gett crazy loud, my concern is the noise. Im gettin the ypipe for sure just debatin on testpipes with CEL fix which I really want for the full flow instead of gettin HFC. Even tho HFC are goods aswell but i like the free flow no restrictions :D:D

Kastley85891 01-26-2011 10:27 AM

It will sound like this, you will have rasp at around 2800 rpm, up top it sounds great IMO.

installed mine today... gotta say that its a good buy.

christian370z 01-26-2011 09:54 PM

Although I still believe the Tanabe Y pipe has better quality in its construction and collector, I would have never bought it if this thread had existed sooner since some of these no brand Y pipes are great bargains.

I was tempted to buy the test pipes as well. I have the same fears though. I had test pipes a long time ago, but they were muffled with turbos on a 350z. It still didn't sound great...but not horrible either.

At WOT that does sound fine with me......but rarely am I driving my car at WOT. It's just so tempting.

NISMOFO 01-30-2011 12:16 AM

I got mine today. Fits good but the one problem is that these nuts and bolts included do NOT match. The threads are way off and the bolts are very loose. I need to go to Lowes tomorrow. I saw this exhaust posted on another site for $180...can't remember if that included shipping. I took plenty of pictures....might post some.

Good pics dude, strange on the fastners, mine were all good, guess some sort of packing error variant

NISMOFO 01-30-2011 04:43 PM

Yeah I got new ones..no big deal. My other issue is that I got a drip at the rear. I think I had it too tight based on torque specs. But even then it still drips. The 3" outlet hole mated with the stock 2.5" inlet isn't working out I don't think. Should I have uses the stock gasket with the 2.5" opening?

cotizi 01-30-2011 05:20 PM

i used the provided gaskets for all connections. Mated it up to stock exhaust as well.

NISMOFO 01-30-2011 05:28 PM

I put back on the stock rear gasket and no leaks so far..car is up on an angle though.

Kastley85891 02-07-2011 09:49 PM

GZ3 02-07-2011 09:56 PM

think am going this route too, did allot of research...going to add the motordyne xYz pipe to ...this should complete my exhaust

Kastley85891 02-07-2011 09:58 PM

That will rip

TypeOne 02-08-2011 02:58 PM

I've had mine on for a good 1000 miles with no problems.

ddvette9 02-09-2011 06:46 PM

as posted earlier. I am running top speed and the ebay y pipe (sure win). Just check my signature. All of you on the fence or not sure here is some feedback. The ebay y pipe will fit to the top speed fine no problems. I used stock gaskets. Second, it sounds GREAT. In my opinion, I wouldn't trade my exhaust for another. The Y-Pipe makes the top speed 2x as loud and my system straight rips now. I cant tell you how mean it sound driving in traffic when i switch over to manual mode and run up 1st 2nd and 3rd gear.

So for all of you looking at this thread. I have this stuff, I love it, it fits great, sounds great, doesnt kill the pocket book and has durability as I have been running for months and months

I have the same setup but have yet to install it! It is too cold for me to take the car out so I still have to wait. The only addition I am looking to make is some Berk HFCs. This is the sound I like.

My thoughts on TopSpeed Pro Exhaust w/ silencers removed: (In comparison to the Fast Intentions Catback w/ stock headers & cats i had before.)

I get much less interior drone (virtually none). No annoying deceleration hiss sound that comes with the FI X-pipe. (which gets exponentially worse with test pipes, longtube headers, or HFCs) I like the sound better over all, it is quiet under normal driving, but gets loud when you punch it, especially at higher RPMs.

im my garage with me standing about 10ft away from the tailpipes and having a friend rev it, its about as loud as the FI exhaust, maybe slightly louder.

I'll be attempting to get my COBB cats to fit with these, and if they don't ill do some e-bay test pipes. Gonna get car inspection done first.

Its a 'bang for buck epidemic'

Good looking out. Has anyone tried the Y with TPs and the TopSpeed together? I know with HFCs it is supposed to be ok. I do not want excessive drone and rasp. I have read that with stock cats it sounds great which is why I have not bought test pipes. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Kastley85891 02-13-2011 12:46 PM

My Topspeed CBE will be here tom so will be running with the Y pipe, I am getting a set of the ebay TP's listed above just for a trial and review so we will see, that will be a couple of weeks off mind, gonna do a full review on the TS CBE with dynos etc first.

GZ3 02-13-2011 06:47 PM

^^ good man Kast!

Kast let me know how it sounds or post up a vid. Chicago weather is getting better and the insurance is back on my Z. I will be doing the exhaust w/ Y pipe and stock cats this week. I am expecting it to sound amazing.

darrinps 02-14-2011 09:21 PM

FWIW, I wrote to the Y-pipe guy on eBay asking him about an exhaust setup for the 370 as he has one for the 350s that looks very nice at a great price.

He wrote back and said that they are working on it but not to expect it to be in production until the summer. For those of you who don't mind waiting and want to save several hundred dollars or more (the 350 sets were under $750 and looked to be true dual exhausts from the pics) this might be an option. I think it is what I will do unless I go local/custom (I just think $1500 for an exhaust is such a rip off...we are talking a little bit of metal here folks...not gold bullion).

samb03 02-14-2011 10:53 PM

^^^I feel ya on the $1500 exhaust.

Kastley85891 02-15-2011 09:17 AM

Guys - next person that picks this up, can you weigh it? ;-)

Nele22 02-15-2011 09:39 AM

I just ordered the test pipes and y pipe. I will weigh mine when they arrive.

Kastley85891 02-15-2011 09:54 AM

thx man, saves me pulling mine just to scale it
