nope. not an issue. this intake really helps the power all the way thru. semtex and RCZ...and probably a few others have actualy dyno sheets, so u can see that gains are large and throughout the power band.

^thanks for confirming, I'm ordering mine tomorrow and I'm glad to hear the power is actually felt throughout the powerband

^^you wont be upset

Jon, here's a link to my dyno sheets if you want to look at them. http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...eview-etc.html

yes but the problem with dyno sheets is that they are not 100% accurate tests. Keep in mind, when the car is traveling @ 130mph the air flow through the filters may be obstructed. I hope this isnt the case, and it probably isnt becasue it is a rare issue, but I was wondering if anyone had actually track tested it.

I haven't track-tested it per se (with quarter-mile numbers, lap times, etc.). But FWIW, I can tell you that when I did what I did in the video in the following thread, it pulled smooth and hard all the way to top speed. http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-p...ing-drive.html

Btw, while I agree that dyno tests can never be 100% accurate, I think the same can be said for any 'track-test', because there are so many variables that go into 'track conditions'. In other words, when comparing lap times on one day to another, variables such as track temp, air temp, fuel loads, etc., all come into play as well. So at the end of the day, we have to take comparative numbers as approximations, no matter if they come from dyno sheets vs. track sheets. JMHO.

I am just curious if the cutting involved is metal work or plastic? It almost looks from the pictures that it's just molded plastic but I could be wrong (certainly not the rails from what I can see).

Thanks in advance and sorry if I missed this answer already while quickly scanning through the thread.

Plastic. :)

Well in that case I am sold... Now just have to find someone to ship down under (AU).

Considering the last response was in 2010... Don't think you'll see much activity.

STILLEN Longtube G3 Intakes. Review, Dyno and Impressions.

Sup gentleman. I have had the Stillen longtube G3s for about two years now. Over the last couple of months has been experiencing some hesitation when it comes to accelerating rapidly. I have also noticed that my check engine light came on, probably had to do with emissions. So I decided to take it to Nissan, and they assured when they ran the diagnostics test it had to so with the intake system.

Has anyone else encountered the same issue with theirs?

Please advise if any info.

Thanks,

-Adalvar

Nissan will look to do anything to blame a problem on something modified to avoid having to warranty any work or actually do any work. Have you cleaned the filters?

That's a given. I don't know what else it can be. I haven't done that yet. However, I did come a crossing cleaning the filters at 50,000 miles. My car has 28,000 miles. About 14,000 of them are with the intakes.
Suggestions?

Dirty MAF's ? Have you tried cleaning them. I know guys running into issues with MAF's being dirty from the "oil" on the KN's with this kit.
