Holy crap.. $500?

What is better about these than a normal set of test pipes, aside from the fact that they have the o2 sensor out of the stream.

All info in this thread.
Little rasp in comparison to standard test pipes, better sound, more low down and mid range TRQ + more HP through out RPM range - Dyno will confirm but I am pretty in touch with my vehicles and this feels dam good.
Do some research, lots of info avaliable. Again , all comments are MHO.

In my experience directly, standard TP's, good value, rasp at 2800, loss of TRQ where you need it. HFC's nice sound, good power, not so bad in low down TRQ, personally I like my TRQ low down and in the mid range, it suits my driving style, I also like the most usable power under the peak for my buck. These fit the bill perfectly for me and did what I was hoping for.

I did my research and it paid off.

Horses for courses, everyone picks there own poison etc.

I read the thread... I just don't see why they cost $500.

Maybe I'm being too harsh, but it doesn't seem like they would be worth that much money. Just from looking at those pictures, it looks like they were put together with a MIG welder and then sanded to get that shiny finish. You can see the splatter in the welds...

I really appreciate the reply, but what makes you think that these make more power than other test pipes? From the description on their site it seems the main selling point is that they are louder than stock, but not as loud as test pipes...

I have run normal test pipes many times, and HFC's, to me it feels much better.
The loss of rasp is a great benefit , but more so for me is the TRQ gain instead of loss.
My total exhuast set up from headers back will be <the typical CBE cost.

Like I said it counts where I want it, I like to trial parts and be different, this was a good test.

When I get the dyno I will be able to over lay my stock dyno pull against, normal TP's, and TP's with a full CBE.
Until then its my butt dyno talking, but my butt dyno is quite calibrated ;-)

Not trying to push guys one way or the other, to me it was a sound deal and matched my over all plan.

if you had a chance to follow Keastley's history you'd see that hes gone through just about every test pipe and/or HFC. So hes experienced / seen them all to know how they sound, feel and look up close.

Plus the benifit of these are the side branch helmholtz resonators which are more than just sound baffles, they serve a function with the air flow as well. Someone posted a proper text book description i think a page or two back.

well considering there is no other test pipe on the market like this one, no other pipe or HFC that provides the gains as this one, not to mention the R&D that went into creating this ART pipe...there is a disgustingly long thread on my 350z about these pipes with dyno scattered...give it glance if you want...plus import tuner did an article with dyno...

Yea, I've been reading a lot about people saying it does this and that, just don't see any real dyno proof as to how much of it translates into power and/or trq.

I'll be looking out for the graphs soon!

Hey, just reading around the forum... it was a question I had. I believe the response was similar in the thread where someone had posted the Motordyne intake manifold. Everyone was quick to say it was the greatest thing, yet dyno graphs show it losing power up top. Now, I won't say that power low and mid isn't a good thing, but certainly for the money it would be nice to have something that gained power everywhere... right?

I'm not bashing anything, I would just like to see the actual results. I don't want to get caught up in the illusion that because these are so different, they are the greatest thing out there. Until I can see the dyno graph of it acutally making more power, than the standard test pipe everything else is moot.

Everyone's butt dyno is different. :-P

OP, do you have dyno graphs of the TPs you had before? Are you going to have something to compare these ART pipes to?

O yeah, I will compare to ...
Baseline - Stock vehicle
TP with X pipe CBE and tune
TP with Y

Should be decent enough data

I agree my friend, but those people who showed us lost power in high end thats because of the tune, They already had a tune before they switch the manifold and thats why there were a lose in power.. A retune or tune the car after the manifold installed you will see no lose

on the 2nd hand. My friend, these ART test pipes are legit gains because they were made for 350Z HR(they are not new) and they made good amout of power over HFC and normal Test pipes.

search in 350z forum for ART test pipe thread made from Motordyne. you will see links of reviews from customers at the first page.. you will be sold trust me..
