Any chance you could spill a bit of info on this, even if it's just what your goals for the intake system are? I know I'm not the only one unwilling to go the route of the G3's, with the bumper removal issue etc, and I'm still not convinced the R2C's are worth the money or can outperform drop ins and PMTs. |

Has anyone looked at the front of a G37 lately? The whole front end is open for airflow! No wonder it can make power close equal to the G3's. |

I hope Tony makes a kick a$$ intake that will post repeatable good gains etc and not be a pain in the a$$ requiring bumper removal and have fitment issues ala G3 and a/c lines etc. I'm willing to wait and see what Tony comes up with and then hopefully by then be able to compare his dyno results ot R2C and see which comes out on top. (I was about to go ahead and plan to order the R2Cs in a few months but now I will wait since motordyne makes such good products) |

It is super easy to remove the front bumper. Dont let that stop you!

I've heard a lot of good things about these pipes, and they look really amazing. Personally I don't care a whole lot about how they affect the sound, but I'm curious about the power gains.
The skeptic in me is still having a hard time believing how it can produce gains over regular test pipes. Dyno tests seem to show improvement over the whole rpm range (in comparisons to regular test pipes). But if it uses resonance to produce gains, then my brain is telling me that any gains should be limited to a specific resonant frequency. I like understanding the technology behind stuff before pulling the trigger on a purchase. Any chance Motordyne can chime in on how exactly that is possible? Or is it a trade secret? I'm also kinda torn because I want these, but I also want long tube headers. Are you guys planning on making headers with these built in? Last edited by ChipsWithDips; 08-03-2011 at 03:30 AM. |

ChipsWithDips,
There is nothing like actual real world testing to show what a part does. Would you like to do a comparative dyno test? Discounted for the dyno of course. If possible, try to include LHT's as part of the comparison. And yes, we have considered putting the side branch resonators on LTH's. That would be ideal for sure, but that will have to come after implementation of other projects in work now. Tony |

I wish I could have just driven to Orlando to go pick them up now. FedEx is holding them hostage there until tomorrow!

Well they came in today and I installed them. Pretty straight forward for the most part. Great build quality and their packing was terrific. I just took the car for a 15 mile drive and I couldn't be happier. They sound deep and quiet. Almost as quiet as stock cats but you still get the little popping when you ease off the throttle. WOT there is no rasp and it's sooooo smooth. I love them.
However, I am worried about the drivers side where the ART meets the catback. I had to use some force to get them to match up. The passengers side went great but I did that side first. Looking under the car you can see how the drivers side exhaust hangs like 1/4-1/2" lower than the passengers side. I don't believe this is a problem with the ART pipe because they seem to appear even and straight. Probably just me when I was tightening up the exhaust near the rear axle I suppose I could have tweaked it a bit. Overall, I am stoked. I can definitely feel the power difference between the GTM resonated test pipes and the Motordyne ART pipes. Can't wait to get my car on the dyno on the 12th.

Eventually the ART Pipes will get a little bit quieter once they've been broken in. That's what makes this the ultimate mod - it's power and sound without all of the drawbacks.

Whats everyone doing with the wiring going to the sensors? Mine aren't able to reach the brackets that they used to clip onto
