Had a deposit on a 2006 6.0L 6MT years ago before I had my 350Z. I loved it. But I do prefer a higher revving motor.

Yes, I'll post pictures of it as soon as they come out of the ceramic coating process.
(I am much happier with the new design.)

And yes, the website is showing the correct list price. This new design costs more to produce but the $485 price will stay for a while.

Can't wait!! :stirthepot:

+1 Almost there.

I was able to squeeze in a little more volume into the side branch resonators. Its in the favorable direction.

Also a little more packing material was fit into the end of the resonator.

Lastly, a hemispherical end cap is now being used as opposed to a flat disk. This helps to reduce shock reflections and the potential for rasp.

All that is left is final weld up and then its off to the ceramic coating facility.

Nice! Good to see a product develop even more.

hey guys just a question sorry for being noob or repeating a dumb question!

i found a dyno of baseline vs. xyz pipe on the 350z forum. At around 2k rpm there's a drop in torque what i wanna ask is
if i also have the ART pipes which increases tq at around that range, would a combo of art pipes + xyz pipe average out the loss from xyz pipe and gain from art pipes? as i saw from previous dynos there is a drop in power due to the xyz pipe at low ranges before there is an increase in power/trq

Motordyne 04-30-2011 10:29 AM

Yes, but for some reason every car responds differently to the same mod.

For example, most Z's and G's don't lose power @2K RPM with the XYZ pipe, but as you saw in the example you referenced sometimes it can. And I can't know why without being able to personally test the same car with the same set of modifications and start switching things around to figure it out.

Variations of dyno results can be seen in every class of breather mods and engine models. Its fairly normal. One thing I have seen is exhaust mods interact strongly with eachother. Both on the dyno results but even more so on the sound.

looking good Tony! : )

Isamu 05-02-2011 08:08 AM

YellowStar 05-03-2011 02:58 AM

Will these be available for local pick up?

Anticipated date these are ready for sale? Gotta make sure I have money set aside when they do become available.

Motordyne 05-11-2011 02:49 PM

Sorry for the delay guys. The ART pipes are in polishing now. The ceramic coater had to design and fabricate plugs to go into the inlet and outlet of the ART pipes before going into the vibratory tumbler for polishing.
But they are being polished now and once they come out they will be coated and glazed in the furnace.

The fabricators new projection is ~Tuesday.

ANMVQ 05-11-2011 03:05 PM

IN, when ready. :0

kosstick 05-11-2011 07:24 PM

lol at us 3 myg37 members lurking for the pipes. Im ready for em!

Z1804 05-17-2011 08:50 PM

That looks AWESOME!!!

AlphaSnacks 05-17-2011 10:23 PM

Nice!!

I can see the Helmholtz Resonator is a bit longer with a rounded-off end, instead of the flat one like before.

Can I give you my money for it already? Please say yes.

aadosx 05-17-2011 10:51 PM

Interesting.. so tell me about this ceramic coating!

Also are you going to test these compared to the older pipes to see the differences in power and sound?

Motordyne 05-18-2011 09:27 AM

These ART pipes are ceramic coated for an extra layer of oxidation resistance for the stainless steel tubes.

Stainless steel can always be polished to a "T" at the time of manufacturing but once its put on the car and driven it will tarnish and turn brown.

The ceramic coating however cannot be made to oxidize because it is already in a highly oxidized state. The ceramic coating will provide extra salt resistance, reduce heat under the floor board and it keeps a much cleaner appearance over time.

The difference on the dyno will be slightly better than the prior design but not by much. It does however have a noticeably quieter and deeper tone.

We can certainly arrange for a series of independent comparative dynos tests and sound clips.

AlphaSnacks 05-18-2011 12:29 PM

Take my money :)

Armonster 05-18-2011 01:47 PM

Hope you made a lot of them.

kosstick 05-19-2011 12:27 AM

Got them today! They are sweet! Smell is a bit annoying though at redlight lol

+1. I have to close my windows at times.

But they do sound awesome. :driving:

aadosx 05-19-2011 08:08 AM

Any of you guys going from cats to these art pipes, how much louder are they?

AlphaSnacks 05-19-2011 02:31 PM

^^^ I did that on my 350Z. They were a hair quieter.

tonybui 05-19-2011 04:54 PM

Katsley, do you have a video of this Art pipe + top speed exhaust ???
