I'll need to ask the fabricator for a production time estimate. (Its typically 4-5 weeks for production.) I hope to get at least a few production quality systems fabricated sooner ~2 weeks for pictures and ~1 week for sound clips.

waiting to see your exhaust before i order a F.I. Hope its good!

Right on. :)
This will be worth the wait. |

Also got my SES warning light came on, second time should I do another reset? Is it possible for the pipes to cause any damage to the car? The only time I have triggered CEL's, which has been about 4 weeks after install/reinstall, it has been due to an almost impossible to detect exhaust leak at the top flange. If you're not sure just reset it and wait, buy the time it comes back on it will be big enough to hear and detect if you get under there while it's running. I would almost bet money if you get under there you'll find a leak. On that note Tony, I'll be hitting you up for yet another set of gaskets. Once again it's burned through in the same spot, despite using the rtv in the manner you prescribed. When I pull it off this time i'm going to check the flange for flatness, to be sure it's milled correctly. Will you pm or email when they ship please, I'll let you know what we find. |

AggieAv8r,
Try this, bolt it up without the graphite gasket and use only the RTV gasket maker. The RTV alone can seal it. The ART pipe flanges are indeed flat. They are all ground and surfaced flat at the factory AFTER welding onto the pipes. If there is a chronic leaking problem you might want to check your header outlet flange to make sure it is not warped or has anything unusual. . |
I'm going to try it without the gasket. What do you recommend as the cure time after installation before starting the car?

If you apply the RTV to the flange surface, let it air cure for a few minutes before installing it. Then let it sit overnight and its good to go.

GENERAL QUESTION ABOUT EXHAUST TIPS.
We normally stock 4.5" OD stainless steel and burnt titanium tips with either a straight or rolled lip. Would more people be interested in a 5" OD burnt Ti tip with a rolled lip?... Or is 5" too big? |
