The stud on the passenger side is there but it isn't a problem and you dont need to do anything with it.

Tony, i'm not quite to the 1500 mile mark and the metal sound is gone, so that might have just been something that was loose in the pipes, or maybe it just cleared up on it's own.

I still have that sort of I guess sand sound? It's only when I let off of the gas, as soon as I put the gas down even a little, it goes away. Is this a normal thing or does it sound like a leak? Is there an easy way I can check to see if it is in fact a leak?

If anyone else has this sound let me know. If it's a normal thing then I don't care.. it's not irritating to me, but I don't want it leaking if it shouldn't be obviously.

Its probably the normal break in process of the fiberglass. Its probably just about done.

Motordyne 09-30-2011 04:06 PM

NOTE: There is no more fiberglass being used in production ART pipes from this point forward.

yeah, it definitely sounds like just sand or something in the pipes more than a leak... I just wanted to check. I just wasn't sure why it only did it under deceleration.

Motordyne 09-30-2011 04:53 PM

It may simply be a soft rasp if it only does it on decel.

So, I beleive the future-coming AWD version of ART pipes will not use fiberglass either?

Sounds like you're referring to the "hiss" that happens on deceleration. It's normal... kinda does sound like sand sifting through something.

The hiss that occurs on decel around 2K rpm is normal.

Motordyne Engineering ART Test Pipes Nissan 370Z - ARTPIPE-HR

Is this place really an authorized motordyne reseller? They've got a good price going on the ART pipes, but wanted to make sure it wasnt sketchy.

There is no more fiberglass in any of them from now on.

AWD clearance will be confirmed next week.

Yes, C.C.C. is an authorized dealer.

DarkZide 10-02-2011 10:27 AM

Would the be selling the new non-fiberglass ones or the old ones?

Motordyne 10-02-2011 10:58 AM

I don't know their stock situation off hand but you can ask them.
