Had one of the first new-gen sets made for the 370Z this summer. About 3-4 months now, I'd say.

Footloose301 09-05-2011 12:14 PM

Had mine a month and 5k miles. Still going good.

Footloose301 09-05-2011 12:15 PM

Tony, it's almost time to begin an "OFFICIAL MOTORDYNE EXHAUST THREAD" haha.

Yeah, no complaints from me either.

G37sHKS 09-05-2011 01:18 PM

Tony,

Had any of your customers run these pipes on FIed cars? how was the longability of the side resonators?

Almost.

And it will have to kick off with an array of independent dyno comparisons.

They have been running on several 350Z's over 500 HP for quite some time now.

I don't know if they are being used on FI 370Z's though.

DJZ 09-05-2011 08:09 PM

I'm super excited to see what you have in regards to exhaust components! :)

370Z JT 09-05-2011 08:33 PM

Can we see prtotype pics?

Muffler design similar to the shockwave or more like OEM?

I think pics would give away a bit to much at this point... or I would imagine anyway.

Just ordered some art pipes should be mated with my gtm stg1 sc next week
Next is getting rid of my crappy stillen exhaust. Can't wait to see what u have been working on

Rooskey 09-05-2011 11:08 PM

Sorry but didnt want to read through 50 pages but will your exhaust system offer a center section x-pipe for the nismo factory exhaust? There are alot of people interested. Thanks in advance

Lets make it a dyno comparison while we're at it.
Many independent dyno comparisons are in order.

It won't bolt onto the stock Nismo H pipe location. Sorry.
Its completely a new design. The only thing in common are the hanger locations and where it bolts to the stock cats.

ChrisSlicks 09-06-2011 11:26 AM

I installed the ART pipes last night, no issues. Volume is the same as the HFC setup it replaced. Only thing I am disappointed about is that the stock cat brace cannot be used (the Berk HFC has this) and so there is a lot of unsupported weight to be carried by the header bolts. I go to a couple of rough tracks so this has me a little concerned.

Let us know how it goes. Do have future plans to track my Z and am very interested in picking up the ART pipes. If it's an issue, then I will have to take that into consideration when making my decision.

If it is a problem I will just have an exhaust shop fab something up, not the end of the world just an extra expense.

True, but it's just another annoying little thing to deal with. Won't make or break my decision, but may make me slightly lean towards one side or the other.

The pipes will get more quiet as you put miles on the car. Mine is more quiet already with about 350 or so miles on them.

Does it feel any different from the HFC's?

The volume wasn't an issue, wasn't any louder than what I had. Was just a little worried about the lack of physical support.

I haven't been able to take it for a good test drive yet but I am expecting I will like it. The real shake down will be Watkins Glen on Monday.

well at least, we will get some real track use from someone which will tell more about the pipes IMO.

TonyBPD 09-06-2011 04:07 PM

My ART pipes are great. Still getting squeel from ARK exhaust but I'm going to deal with it til I sell it or replace the X-pipe with something.

tommyguns 09-06-2011 05:26 PM

I so want these, but I'm very concerned about the sound change. So I'm here to reach out to all members that have my exhaust system and have added these. I would love a sound clip if possible but a written opinion will be just fine, you folks have always provided excellent reviews.
Thanks in advance,
TommyGuns

why are you afraid of a sound change outta curiosity? not one person has said it gets raspy or drones. everyone seems to be under the same concensus that its just slightly slightly louder, but mostly just a deeper sound.

second that... and i've got a video of it right as it was fired up after install and they are more quiet now at idle... still sound nice under load though.... not to mention how much better power and throttle response.

tommyguns 09-06-2011 07:30 PM

Truth be told I get so many compliments on the sound that I would hate to change it too much.

Footloose301 09-06-2011 08:23 PM

It'll only make it sound better

NeverBoneStck 09-06-2011 10:30 PM

What exhausts do u have ready for dyno comparison ??

The actual loudness of the exhaust note will not change. Just the tone will. You have the resonated FI anyways, so you shouldn't worry so much. Cruising will be virtually no different in sound and loudness, only when you step on it will you hear a bit more definition and throatiness to the sound.

This really is a no brainer mod, for our cars.

I'll try to get a sound clip loaded in a bit. Isn't the best, but it has normal driving and a 2nd gear pull. And I have the 18" resonators, versus your 12"

tommyguns 09-06-2011 11:52 PM

Look forward to the clip. Thanks for all the replys. How is $489.00 shipped.

Butt Dyno loves it :) smooth pull to redline
Running the M370 also, so the low end is much better than stock IMO

I was hoping to be the first with the ART pipes with F.I.'s CBE... however, I may go with Motordyne's exhaust now that i've heard all of the things Tony has been saying about it.

Boost_lee 09-07-2011 01:45 AM

Yea, I've had them for a while, just been lazy with the sound clips.
I'm sure Tony's (motordyne) exhaust will be nothing short of amazing, just like his other products.

Yeah, I think it will be something very different from the other exhausts out there.
