Problems installing Stillen CBE

2 Attachment(s)
So im getting my stillen CBE installed today and we ran into a problem. The first section where the pipes (closest to the engine) are too low and are being blocked by the gas tank protector (like a skid plate) if we force it up i think its gonna rattle like crazy and if i take off the gas tank has no protection. Anyone have this issue when installing it? Ill post a pic

I'm not sure if the instructions address this or not for the Stillen kit, but for the FI kit we actually cut away the portion of the shield that gets in the way of the muffler and then wrap the exposed fuel line with a heat resistant wrap.

hrmm on the FI i know you have to remove that evap cover
apply some heat wrap around the line
not sure if that happens on the stillen too. Josh@stillen on here should be able to answer all your questions.

You don't have to cut anything off. The stillen cbe sometimes has fitment issues.

daisuke149 12-06-2010 12:03 PM

if your picture is about the part that is not fitting
thats not an issue
just gotta hold it up while you slike the other ppipe through
when you use the hangaers it will be between those two. shouldnt rattle. at all times that you tighten the bolts in each section, hold the part slightly up to keep it as "straight" as possible while tightening it.

Oh, based on those pictures you are talking about a different spot than I was.

We tried sliding that pipe piece, but did not work unless the metal plate was either cut or removed. I bought the CBE with welds already done to stop any leaks. I'm not sure if that made a difference. For now, I removed the plate but I'm probably going to have to cut the center piece to make room for the pipe and still have my gas tank with some protection. FML, other than that the CBE sounds F**ing awesome!!

Awesome! I bought the older version of the Stillen CBE and it has fitment issues. Newer versions have done away with that issue and fit perfectly. Anyhow, enjoy!
