The OEM cats creating a restriction, and slow down exhaust pulses.

Replacing them with either higher flowing cats or completely unrestricted pipes (i.e. test pipes) will improve exhaust flow, resulting in more power.

they will improve power with the OEM exhaust and should also bolt up to any aftermarket exhaust, unless it includes test pipes or high flow cats.

Both cats and test pipes are deleted with headers.

I'm assuming it will make acceleration even more louder?

Exhaust note gets a bit louder; main issue is that you get a noticeable rasp/rattle sound at about 2.7K RPM. If that will bother you, see about getting a set of resonated TP's or HFC's.

You can probably find sound clips in the big exhaust thread.

HFC's will allow more flow too correct? how are HFC's different from test pipes? or are they the same pretty much?

HFC's are simply higher flowing catlytic converters. They won't flow quite as well as two plain hunks of pipe which is what test pipes are.

The difference is probably about 2 - 3% potnetial gain or about 4-6 whp between them. Possibly 1-2 whp more, but definitely not less.

The major difference is cost; HFC's tend to be quite a bit more expensive that TP's. Add more to the cost if you get resonated ones.

HFC's are more environment friendly, so that's plus (if that matters to you).

Both may result in CEL's (search for details why) and neither is a guarantee of passing an emissions test (not that this is an issue in FL).

Are there any aftermarket headers that aren't long tube?
