TopSpeed Pro1 Exhaust.... Tips right up against bumper...
Just installed the TopSpeed exhaust and the tips are pretty tight up against the bumper... is this going to be a problem? I haven't drove the car yet as im waiting on some parts to finish up. Seems like it might vibrate like a mofo while driving..
Also, the driver side tip sticks out about .5" farther than the passenger side... that's gonna drive me nuts and i have no idea how to fix that. The exhaust is solid. No room for adjustment |
You can try and bend the exhaust hangers slightly to lower the muffler section a bit and gain some clearance between the tips and the bumper.

Not a problem if you like a melted bumper....
For some systems you have to align it, small differences up front can translate to bigger differences out back. You may need loosen the system and have an extra hand push/pull stuff up front as you tighten bolts and work your way back. If that doesn't help the exhaust is whack. |
You can 'make' anything fit dude, if you get stuck, I am in Pflugerville, I can have the garage empty in 20 mins, two pairs of hand and eyes can make stuff work.
Dont sweat it. If you dont like the exhaust, also LMK I will look at it as always up for new parts ;-) |
if its right up against the bumper then it will melt it for sure. Why not try to loosen the bolts and apply pressure to where you want the exhaust and have a friend tighten it.

Yeah the install didnt go right. Start at the back tighten going forward. Having someone else to hold it in the right place helps alot

I loosened up the exhaust hangers, the joint where the y-pipe meets the exhaust and the joint where the mufflers bolt to the exhaust section and jiggled it around until it looked good. I thought for sure as soon as i tightened things back up it would be back in the same spot, but low and behold the **** didn't move. Looks good now! Except the passnger side tip is a little off center.

PS. Berk HFC's, JIC Y-pipe and TopSpeed Pro1 exhaust sounds FKN AMAZING! 10x better than the stillen cbe in my opinion. Like someone mentioned in another thread... sounds like an exotic.

Hmmm, if this is simply a Y pipe back system I may have to consider it! I was initially going to get a Tanabe Medallion Touring system since I already have their Y pipe but this is a 1/3 of the price and looks like a quality system as well.
