So I got my Berk Test Pipes installed this afternoon along with an oil change. I screwed up and didn't get the right gaskets and have an exhaust leak.

The problem and I can't think of or if it would relate in any way is my oil temp is higher now. Before I changed the oil my avg temp was 185-190. After running a few errands my temp is above 220. I haven't been driving hard at all, I've actually been driving slower since I have the exhaust leak and won't be able to get a new gasket till Tues.

I'm using the same oil as was in the engine before Mobil1 synthetic, but with a Purolator filter(larger one like AK) instead of the Mobil1 filter. The air temp today is also 20 degrees colder since it's supposed to rain tonight. I haven't seen temps this high since I was still using Ester oil.

Just to let you know 220 is a normal temp once the engine is warmed up. Mine has never gone over that but it is ok to Go higher and when it reaches 280, then the car goes into limp mode.

Yes I'm aware that 220 is avg. But before I changed oil my avg temps we below 200 for the type of driving I was doing in this weather. Plus today it was in the low 50's. I just thought it was weird that temps would increase after an oil change like that. I'll give it a few days and see if it comes down a bit.

Is the exhaust flow near any oil flow? Is the water temp normal?

No and water temp is normal.

It's been a few days now and temps have returned back to normal, but I am now getting a check engine light. Going back to shop tomorrow to hopefully get it all sorted out.

Lol... this is my first mod on this car and already having issues. Tons of mods on my integra and don't remember having a single problem.

This is normal and it'll say check engine, but that'll go away.

The CEL is probably due to the ECU seeing the same voltage change between the first and second O2 in each bank.

Try the steel wool trick -- supposedly cramming some steel wool into the O2 bung filters the exhaust gasses enough to slow down the flow so the ECU thinks the cat is still there.

The oil temps were probably nothing.

Nah the CEL will be from the exhaust leak. I had the same issue with mine. As soon as the leak was fixed the CEL vanished

Thanks, I was hoping that was it. Where you also running Berk TP's? Did you have to use steel wool?

Non-fouler option is always a good idea, especially on Berk's equipment. They've been known to cause a check engine light for a while now. The J-bend is the best design to alleviate any of those issues, but if they don't have them (which they don't)... you need to go the non-fouler route.
