Fujimura auto and HKS elite or watever its called is an axleback. Not cheap though.

TexasPig 11-18-2010 11:00 PM

Yes, an axle back is what im looking for, not to sure about the washer mod and dont really want to completely delete the muffler, just looking for a new muffler

I have an x pipe if interested.

You'll need to have something custom-made, then.

I still think the washer mod would be best for your situation because:

1) There are no real axle-back options available for the Z that aren't ridiculously loud or ridiculously expensive.

2) It's cheap!

3) You can control the volume, and if you don't like it it's super easy to reverse.

If you don't want to do that, then look into HFCs.

My exhaust is a full cat back and cheaper than an axle back:)

We have a new short tail exhaust coming VERY soon. It will be priced well under $400 and it sounds fantastic. We're making finishing touches, but the product should be ready for launch within just a few weeks.

Here's a quick start and rev video clip:

^And a image for reference. Its very easy to install, replaces the entire rear muffler section, and it sounds fantastic, all for a fraction of the price of a full catback exhaust system. Keep your eyes open in the Exhaust Section of the site for a release, and feel free to send me a pm if you have further questions.

Akrapovic sells just a muffler. Axle back, they call it.

I didn't see any info on your site, what are the specs on this? Materials, size, weight, ect? It looks like there are two pipes there so I assume it replaces the factory Y-Pipe right, does it have an X-Pipe then? Most importantly I would like to see some performance data when once it's available, it's designed to attach to the factory catalytic converts right I assume it would still benefit from high flow cat's also?

Kastley85891 11-19-2010 09:08 PM

Like the muffler delete, would need to be the right price for a couple of pipes and flanges though, any Ti option or black out option?

Sweet. I like it. :tiphat:

Anyone attempted to 'make' some mufflers from a G37 fit as yet?

There are plenty of dual can options which look to mate to the stock mid pipe, dont think it would take thet much work for one to fit.

Nismoracer 12-03-2010 01:10 PM

I ran into a guy last night with no mufflers. Don't know if he was waiting for one to put on or just didn't want the mufflers anymore. It was not loud at all. I was surprised at how it sounded. I thought it would be loud and annoying. But it was only slightly louder than stock. Slightly. Weird.
