M370 installed, there's definitely power gains, by the feel of it, they're not small


The car sounds much smoother on acceleration and just seems to breath more free now.

The exhaust note has changed a bit also after the install of the M370, not in a bad way

I'll have the car dyno tested at next oil change and post up the numbers.

This a good mod.

One negative is that we were missing two (2) screws with our kit and Seb had to find a couple on his own.

Tuning will bring back almost all of the power up top. 2 whp difference over 7200 rpm. Torque and mid range much better with the M370.

Why modify the HR350 manifold and not the OEM 370 intake manifold?
R we saying the 350Z manifold is much better than the 370Z? Just asking out curiosity.

I believe the difference is in the runner length/size. This is why people typically claim a slight loss at the top end but gains in the mid-range. The difference between the two is not something you can simply modify the Z34 manifold to get.

What I would love to see is variable intake runner tech in a manifold. I think some sport bikes currently have this tech. Basically the runners lengthen at low rpms to increase torque and then shorten as rpms increase to get better top end. Maybe someday.

Trying to get as much from NA since FI is not of consideration...just too hot to handle for me.

So the 350Z HR's manifold has shorter runners losing peak HP by 2-4HP, BUT the total area under the curve is increased dramatically.

I personally make a 350Z HR manifold conversion and what is being done is redrilling 4 holes to make it align to the 370Z, THEN adding a top plate to add pressure because you cannot bolt up the modified manifold... (Sounds a bit easier that it really is)

Cutting a 370Z manifold with a hot knife then going about modifying would take so much R&D work and time and effort, you might as well mold a new one of out plastic, lol

Got that part backwards, just so you know.

The HR runners are much longer, giving them a lower resonant frequency and thus tuning them to lower RPM.

The VHR runners are shorter and fatter, tuned for high end peak HP for dat marketing, yo.
