Default Need help with new exhaust

Sooo I just got the ark type 2 exhaust installed today.

First impression.. WOOOW the exhaust is loud plus deep exhaust note! It's pretty new to me, and I LOVE IT!

Anyways.. My dilemma is.. I drove away without checking the alignment of the exhaust tips. The left tip is peeking out more than the other while the right is pointing a little more outboard (to the right). I don't have pics taken.. It's too late at night. I'll snap pics when I can.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm really hoping to find easy fix and not have to go back to the shop.

PS: loosening the bolts and pushing up the x-pipe will give 1/4 inch clearance from the crossmember. No vibrations yet

Are the exhaust tips held by a collar or screws? If so, you could just loosen and realign.

Unfortunately not. It's not like HKS. It's welded fixed on to the muffler.

I had that issue when I installed mine aswell... Wasnt sure on how to fix the issue either and tried several things... Did you also remove your Evap Shield?

Plus dont plan on putting Test pipes on it because it will have a very very high Whistle howl noise that comes from the increased exhaust flow in the X pipe. This was the reason I switched to HKS.. But I did talk to ARK and they said they were designing a HFC that wouldnt make that noise and increase flow..

Good Luck!

No test pipes for me! I don't think id be able to handle that level of loudness lol. Were you able to solve your issue with the tip?

I would suggest getting yourself a few extra exhaust gaskets, and try putting another one on the right side to cause that tip to come out a bit further.

As for the angle, loosen the connecting bolts and/or rubber hangers and see if that helps. If you can get it to the right angle, but then after some flexing it moves, try getting a clamp ring and tighten it down on the rubber hanger to prevent it from moving...

Mine was uneven too. What you'll notice is that the last pair of flanges where the mufflers bolt to the midpipe have a bit of slack. What I mean by this is that after removing the two screws, you can move the flanges around with respect to each other, since the bolt hole are rather wide.

It turned out that the flanges were not perfectly aligned during the install in my case, so I simply loosened both of them, lined it up as best I could and snugged them down. After that, they were pretty well aligned. Maybe not perfect, but you would have to deliberately look for any type of mismatch between the two tips.

You think an OEM gasket will do just fine just like berk?

I'll try this as soon as I can.. Hopefully the same day as dyno.
