The reason I was curious about the Mishimoto ones is because they claim to prevent against heat, and the others dont mention that. If that were true, id buy them even though i have the HPS tubes.... Still no evidence that they actually do help with heat...

Finally got around to installing these as well as new panel filters. Whole process took about 45 mins including removal of the strut bar.
They have been on the car for about a week now and there is noticeable increase in throttle response between 3k-5k rpm as well as a slightly louder intake volume/noise. The car does seem more eager to pull across most of the rpm range as well. Just to make sure I wasn't suffering from a placebo effect and not making things up I switched cars for an afternoon with a fellow forum member (SolidKatfish) and the only difference between our cars are the intake and filters. Granted, the butt dyno is not accurate enough to measure tangible gains, it does feel slightly better. He also noted better throttle response and better pull across the rev range. We both also agreed his car felt more flat in the mid range so either we're both going crazy or there is a somewhat small but noticeable difference once the tubes+filter combo are installed. pics:

The Z1 Silicone tubes seem to fit better than the HPS tubes, didn't have to trim the passenger side tube at all, perfect fit. The overall quality seems to be better as well, a bit thicker than the HPS.

Good to know and thanks for posting back. I may make a switch to the Z1's or the Mishimoto's. The other day I happened to open up the hood after driving and grabbed the HPS tubes, they were super hot!!

Glad to hear it! This weekend ordered them. Why the shipping to Europe takes so long time?

Can anyone tell me what the diameter of the Z1 tubes are? Mishimoto has this on their website:
Inner Diameter Hose 1: 2.70" Hose 2: 2.70" Outer Diameter Hose 1: 3.0" Hose 2: 3.0" Just curious if there really are any differences... |

I am very curious to see how hot the temperature gets with the G3 intake since the intake pipes are metal and much longer, which should be terrible for heat soak. I would also expect the temperature drop to occur much slower once you are moving due to the amount of mass that need to be cooled with those tubes. Hopefully someone with the ability to measure intake air temps will get G3's soon so we can compare temperatures. I have a feeling that dyno numbers and real world driving numbers will be dramatically different. |

Don't feel too bad I had a hard time trying to get them to fit too because they were challenging to bend. I ended up just unbolting air boxes and fitting the tubes in both ends then pushing the whole intake back into the socket so I could bolt the box back in place. The tubes were a perfect fit and required no trimming but they were just a pain in the a$$ to bend.
