From what people have said, the combination of the tubes with filters would typically gain around 6 - 8 hp.
I think the main reason people get these is so they can avoid taking the bumper off, and for the gains you get, which are very close to CAI gains once other mods are added (exhaust...), they are so close that it doesn't warrant paying an additional $400 for the CAI...
well it's what? Around 20 whp gain from the G3's? 10-14 hp is a pretty big jump... I agree however that it is quite expensive and taking the bumper off is just something i'm not interested in doing. Without seeing the G3... is there a way it can go on without removing the bumper?

No, but removing it is easy.

The temperatures still run about 8-10 degrees above ambient which I doubt any other CAI can beat. It finally warmed up to around 85 here and the intake temperatures ran at 95 while cruising at 60 on the freeway.

The car does seem to respond better with the HPS tubes + K&N drop ins as far as overall throttle response goes. BERK HFC's also went on today and seemed to really wake up the midrange which I didn't expect since I thought most of the benefit from HFC's was up top.
Great findings with the intake temp. Thanks for following up

yeah, it wasn't bad with my Evo X either honestly... but once it's off, it never seems to go back on quite the same.

I havent heard 20 whp from the g3's, more like 12-14 from what ive seen, and thats before other exhaust components are added. Once those are put on, i believe those numbers shrink...

Has anyone tried the Mishimoto intakes yet? I'm interested to see if the quality meets or exceeds the HPS. I might just pull the trigger anyway.

Just ordered the Mishimoto tubes in RED to replace my black HPS tubes that I've only had on for a month. Wanted them to match the rest of the red silicone hoses I have swapped out in my Niz. If anyone is interested in my black HPS tubes PM me and we can make a deal.

I wanted to do the same thing for the nismo. Post back about how the fitment is. Curious if the passenger side tube fits better... also what the quality is since they say they provide more heat resistance...

Yea i saw that, but thanks. To be honest, I wasnt thrilled with the HPS tubes but not sure if theres much of a difference between the other 2 options. So wont switch until i hear some feedback...

To the guys with the HPS tubes installed, did you notice any difference in sound? Is it as noticeable as a CAI?
