Haven t done my install yet, most likely this week. For those of you who have done this, do you have to remove the strut bar? I saw it also says to remove the head cover but i wouldn't think that's necessary. I wanna do this as quick as possible haha.

I did mine this weekend, I did remove the strut bar, as I was also doing HFC's. The passenger side was harder than the drivers side... The drivers side seemed to fit a bit better..

Ok, really stupid question haha, feel free to point and laugh after... when putting the strut bar back on, do the bolts need to be super tight, torqued on or will a standard ratchet do the trick?? Im paranoid about things lol.
Go ahead, laugh away lol |

Yes there is a specific tq value, but I would say just use a regular socket and then check it in a day or two of driving

Well its clear that you guys are way more mechanically inclined than I am. After 2 hrs i still cant get 1 of the hoses on, and i stripped the bolt hole that holds down the breathing hose piece. The hps hose just seems to be crimping where it isnt round all the way, but causes on oval spot..... annoyed...
p.s. i also couldnt get the strut bar off due to not having a hollow ratchet bit for that 1 bolt... Last edited by Pelican170; 04-25-2011 at 08:15 PM. |

You should fit the tube on the metal part first then squeeze together the other end of the tube, push it down until it wraps around the plastic intake, then squeeze and pull the rest of the rubber tube until it wraps around the top of the Intake. Not sure if that made sense but I actually didn't think the tube would fit either.
