370z Catalytic converters

Just curious, how many cats does the stock 370z exhaust have? Also, with test pipes (stock headers), will you throw a cel?

Our Z's come with two Cats... With the test pipes it is dependent on the type of brand of TP's that you but you will have a higher chance of throwing a CEL with TP's Vs. HFC's...Most of the CEL's that amount from TP's or HFC's have been due to imporper installs...I know a few members that have had issues with CEL's and performed the non-fouler method of stuffing steel wool into the O2 bungs.

I thought the headers each have a catalytic converter too.

Felt, I see you have a Mazdaspeed. Did you delete one or both cats on that? Just curious, I know it's a popular mod in the Mazda3 camp.

The Cat Converters are seperate from the Header...The Cats are the parts that go between the end of the header and the beginning of the Y or X Pipe

Ok. So I guess there would not be much gain in replacing the headers as there are no cats.

Yes sir, I have a 3" Turboback exhaust on the MS3, it's catless. Best modification I did on the case besides an intake.

Same topic but if I go with PPE race header I am sure I will through a code, which can be bypassed with a dummy O2 sensor, but will it pass the sniffer at the emmisions station? Something I have been wondering due to planning out parts.

So long as it isn't throwing a code I don't think it should. But I haven't had to try.
