Hmmm...I have my reservations about using K&N cold air intakes. On my SRT4 the dang silicon elbow would collapse and choke the turbo beyond 15psi. Took weeks to figure out what the heck was going on.

That's just me, your mileage may vary.

Now that I have your attention I will explain why, My last vehicle was a 2004 F-250 power stroke diesel 4x4 lariat crew cab. I had exhaust and a programmer and an AFI intake this was a 6.0 (the one that gets the bad wrap for reasons which do not relate to this post). Ok now my truck dyno'ed after being custom tuned at 450 horsepower and 670 lbs. ft. Now that you have the history of my truck here is the deal I am a member of a powerstroke forum and I can give you links to at least 10 people who have "dusted" their engine and turbo by using a K&N filter. Dusted means dirt and particles got past the so called "filter" and sand blasted the turbo and engine. I can also give you several pictures if y'all want

I realize this is on a FI application so it is pulling in a ton more air, but it still leads to the point that K&N filters dont filter the air near as good as they claim. I just want to inform people of this because I would hate to see more people getting "dusted"

dude, u do realize that u gotta oil the filter after u clean it, that's if u ever cleaned it before

They're talking about new filters for the stock boxes I believe. Stillen uses a completely different shape, so that's unrelated.

i've used k&n filters on off road vehicles for years in the worst conditions,sand dunes,dirt roads ,silt beds'the worst' and haven't had any problems with k&ns.my current off road car is a morphic 'tyrant' duel sport with a dynoed 505hp ls2 vette motor.for pics go to morphic ind .com,my car is the orange and blue, and no i don't work for k&N,i'am real estate broker.:tiphat:

i have been in contact with K&N since March I believe. however, I'm still waiting for the intake to be finished.

don't know when it's going to be finished. but they were nice enough to send me the drop in air filter. however, i hope that is not what i get for letting them borrow my car for a week.

I'm waiting for it too. I didn't know of this post and accidentally made another similar thread. They are waiting for more cars to sample test to ensure good fit per an email I received from K&N last week. They estimated 2 - 3 mos.

I have a bad taste of K&N after my friends Mustang a few years ago.

Lets see what they come up with.
