What exactly are the smaller hoses for? I heard something like a "breather". Also, when installing mine, It was hard to ensure a 100 percent perfect fit so is it

Also, when installing mine, It was hard to ensure a 100 percent perfect fit so is it a huge deal if one of these ends up coming disconnected at some point?
